Job Summary: We are currently seeking a Senior Azure Cloud Engineer to join the Enterprise Cloud Adoption team within Caterpillar Information Technology Division to support IaaS workloads. What You Will Do: Deploy Azure cloud technologies based on requirements gathered from business partners using skills such as PowerShell, ARM templates, Azure CLI, VBS, Python, Java, NodeJS, JSON, YAML, Bash, Azure Portal, CI/CD Pipelines, Azure DevOps, and GitHub. Virtual Machine Management: Provisioning, scaling, and securing VMs. VM images, extensions, and availability zones Configure Networking: Virtual Networks (VNets), NSGs, Load Balancers, VPN Gateway, DNS, routing, and hybrid connectivity (ExpressRoute) Deploy Storage Solutions: Blob, Disk, File storage, Performance tiers, replication, and lifecycle policies Enable Monitoring & Logging: using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Application Insights Security and Vulnerability management: RBAC, Managed Identities, Key Vault, and policy enforcement Backup & Disaster Recovery: Backup, Site Recovery, and geo-redundancy Assist customers with documentation, training, and usability efforts What You Have: Ability to perform all programming, project management, and development/deployment assignments without close supervision; normally assigned the more complex aspects of systems work. Ability to act as lead for development and support groups; provide programming and Infrastructure technology leadership, guidance, and assistance to other team members. Ability to work directly on complex technical problem identification and resolution, including responding to off-shift and weekend support calls. Ability to work independently on complex infrastructure technology components that may be used by one or more applications or systems. Ability to deploy or integrate infrastructure technology components based on requirements gathered from customers. Ability to perform integrated testing and customer acceptance testing of components that require careful planning and execution to ensure timely, quality results. Be fully knowledgeable of the relevant programming languages, program design and specification development, programming logic, logic diagrams, system analysis techniques, testing, debugging, documentation standards, file design, storage and internal systems and cross platform infrastructure components; can provide training on these topics for others
