About The Position

The Senior Integrated Media Buyer is responsible for the negotiation and placement of media within TV, Radio, Cable, Streaming Audio and Video. The Senior Integrated Media Buyer is a media professional who prefers to work in an environment that embraces change. They must possess a strong ability to learn, operate, and make timely decisions in an ambiguous, fast-paced agency environment, be detail-oriented with solid organizational skills and multitasking abilities, and deliver best-in-class media solutions that employ integrated thinking and ideas. They are a self-started with a roll-up-sleeves mentality and a proven track record of success.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of related media buying experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
  • Strong mathematical ability
  • Strong understanding of media landscape, including spot television, spot radio, spot cable, digital, and outdoor advertising
  • High technical aptitude for learning and working within desktop and web-based buying applications (Microsoft Office, Advantage, Mediaocean, Prisma)

Responsibilities

  • Meet with media representatives and analyze proposals and packages
  • Request media avails from stations and vendor partners for upcoming buys and campaigns
  • Estimate, update, and negotiate all broadcast ratings
  • Maintain key relationships with clients, media reps and partners within each supported market
  • Provide new ideas to contribute to growth of both client and agency’s business
  • Gather, organize and present competitive research and spending data as requested
  • Partner across buying teams to ensure driving efficiencies within campaigns and delivering maximum ROI
  • Execute all media plans while adhering to establish media budgets and timelines
  • Clearly and accurately communicate orders and changes to media vendors
  • Monitor buys in progress, arrange for any makegoods and credits and responsible for post-buy results of all buys
  • Troubleshoot with media planners and accounting to resolve any media billing issues
  • Negotiate requested added value for all clients
  • Collect and organize appropriate vendor information as necessary; thinking creatively and evaluating various options for digital media plan
  • Work in an integrated way with other disciplines, including brand management, planning and strategy
  • Collaborate with team to stay current on industry trends and media opportunities
  • Embrace One Team mentality, easily adjusting to personality styles of diverse team members
  • Confidently handle difficult situations, promoting positive results while encouraging team members to do the same
  • Contribute to communication & sharing across all teams, building credibility among internal and external partners
  • Attend weekly staff meeting, contribute to communication & sharing with team
  • Help train and develop Junior and Integrated Media Buyers
  • Actively participate in media training and retain expert knowledge and understanding
  • Foster a positive attitude among fellow agency associates
  • Manage all projects on time and on budget
  • Adhere to all company policies and demonstrate a commitment to company values
  • Know and follow internal processes – able to teach others the processes and identify and lead opportunities to improve internal processes
  • Detail oriented with the ability to prioritize, plan and organize daily tasks. Must be comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment
