About The Position

RK&K's Construction Engineering Inspection and Construction Management Division is hiring Senior Construction Inspector to join our team in central Tennessee. As a Senior Construction Inspector with RK&K you will strengthen our Construction Engineering and Inspection team while leading complex and routine inspections on projects including highway, bridge, design/design-build projects. Opportunities for growth and training into construction management and office engineering careers.   Essential Functions Provide construction management support, including inspection, testing, and monitoring of construction ensure compliance with contract documents Fully engage in solving complex problems to provide technical evaluation and sound solutions Manage and mentor the activities of other inspectors Ability to communicate effectively across different platforms with project management, clients, stakeholders, and contractors Interface with clients, state and federal agencies, and other engineering disciplines on construction projects Recordkeeping, materials testing, and reporting as required Must possess high integrity and ethics in all aspects of dealing with clients, subconsultants, and peers

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Ten (10) + years of experience in roadway and bridge construction
  • Ability to understand, explain, and administer contracts; and interpret construction plans, provisions, standards, and specifications
  • Ability to mentor, coordinate, and supervise inspection personnel in the field
  • Understanding of QA/QC development and execution process
  • Travel to job sites is expected, clean driving record
  • Experience with MS Office, SiteManager, and mobile devices

Nice To Haves

  • Skilled in both roadway and bridge construction
  • Survey experience
  • Required TDOT certifications

Responsibilities
