About The Position

WSP is currently initiating a search for a Senior Inspector to be based out of our Norwalk Connecticut office with an interest in highway, bridge and rail engineering/construction. Be involved in projects with our Construction Management Team and a part of a growing organization that meets our client objectives and solves their challenges. Your Impact Interfacing with contractor’s supervisors to determine and monitor daily work. Perform field measurements and calculations for unit price item quantities. Complete daily work reports in accordance with policies and procedures. Help coordinate independent material sampling and testing or periodically perform the same. Monitor maintenance of traffic. Take and compile photographs of work activities for tracking daily progress. Keep the Chief Inspector and/or Resident Engineer informed on all construction activities. Exposure to highway and construction environments and year-round weather conditions Potential for working days, nights, and weekends Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • Minimum 11 years of construction inspection experience.
  • Strong oral and written technical communication skills.
  • Ability to learn how to read plans and specifications, or the aptitude to learn
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite particularly Word and Excel
  • Valid Driver’s License and reliable personal transportation
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or Construction Management, or related field
  • Engineer-In-Training certification
  • NICET HCI Level III
  • ACI, NETTCP certification or ability to attain within 3 months of hiring
  • Hands-on experience with construction management software such as AASHTOWare Project, Headlight, Procore, or similar systems
  • Knowledge of Bluebeam
