About The Position

AECOM is seeking a Senior Inspector to be based in San Diego, CA. Under the direction of the Construction Manager, the MPF Inspector will perform detailed quality assurance inspections, provide recommendations, perform administrative tasks, and coordinate inspection activities for building, tenant renovation, maintenance, or other construction projects for the Airport Authority. The MPF Inspector will ensure compliance with plans, specifications, building codes and related laws and regulations, including safety and serve as a mentor to other construction inspection staff. Summary of Responsibilities: Under minimal direction, relies on extensive experience and independent judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Responsible for setting own project deadlines. Provides on the job training to new employees. Responsible for monitoring conformance to quality, performance, specifications, and/or code requirements by performing inspection duties. Performs daily field inspections and maintains inspection records. Participates in punch lists, testing, and commissioning. Tracks quality assurance progress. Provides input to documentation for area and equipment turnovers.

Requirements

  • High School + 8 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  • A valid Class C driver’s license and the ability to maintain eligibility under the Airport Authority’s Authorized Drivers Program
  • Successful clearance of TSA background check and drug/alcohol screening is a prerequisite working at the airport

  • Ability to lead, learn and apply knowledge of applicable local / state and federal codes, statues and guidelines.
  • Ability to attend to detail and work in a time conscious and time effective manner.
  • Perform physical inspection of variety of discipline activities including but not limited to mechanical, plumbing and fire protection and related systems and utilities.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in the subject area.
  • Ability to review and understand design and construction documents for the purpose of determining compliance with requirements and to coordinate between projects/contractors.
  • Knowledge and experience in airport operations and construction is preferred.
