About The Position

AECOM is seeking an experienced Inspector to perform construction engineering and inspections on a variety of construction projects including railroads, bridges and highways in Connecticut. The role involves performing assignments in construction layout, making and checking engineering computations, inspecting construction work, and conducting field tests. The Senior Inspector will monitor conformance to quality, performance, specifications, and/or code requirements, perform daily field inspections, and maintain inspection records. This position also includes participating in punch lists, testing, and commissioning, tracking quality assurance progress, and providing input to documentation for area and equipment turnovers. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Construction Project Manager, and the inspector is responsible for setting their own project deadlines and providing on-the-job training to new employees.

Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED and 8 years of related experience performing inspections on related bridge and/or roadway construction projects or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  • Valid Driver’s License required to visit project sites, clients, and other AECOM offices
  • Pass a Motor Vehicle Records review (as a condition of employment)

Nice To Haves

  • NICET certification Level 3 (or ability to obtain required level)
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in a relevant field
  • Certified Construction Manager (CCM) certification or Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • Willingness to work flexible schedules as needed for projects, including overnight work
  • Experience working with Connecticut Dept. of Transportation (CTDOT)
