AECOM is seeking an experienced Inspector to perform construction engineering and inspections on a variety of construction projects including railroads, bridges, and highways in Connecticut. This role involves working on exciting projects within the team.

Requirements

High school diploma/GED and 8 years of related experience performing inspections on related bridge and/or roadway construction projects or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
Valid Driver’s License required to visit project sites, clients, and other AECOM offices.
Selected candidate must pass a Motor Vehicle Records review.

Nice To Haves

NICET certification Level 3 (or ability to obtain required level)
Bachelor of Science Degree in a relevant field.
Certified Construction Manager (CCM) certification or Professional Engineer (PE) license.
Willingness to work flexible schedules as needed for projects, including overnight work.
Experience working with Connecticut Dept. of Transportation (CTDOT)

Responsibilities

Responsible for performing assignments in construction layout, making, and checking engineering computations, inspecting construction work, and conducting field tests.
Under minimal direction, relies on experience and independent judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
Work is performed under the general supervision of the Construction Project Manager.
Responsible for setting own project deadlines.
Provides on the job training to new employees.
Responsible for monitoring conformance to quality, performance, specifications, and/or code requirements by performing inspection duties.
Performs daily field inspections and maintains inspection records.
Participates in punch lists, testing, and commissioning.
Tracks quality assurance progress.
Provides input to documentation for area and equipment turnovers.
