Opportunity:

VSO is seeking a senior engineer with deep expertise in storage platforms, SAN fabric design, backup/restore architecture, DR orchestration, and advanced troubleshooting across the entire stack. This role owns RCA development, architecture validation, escalations from L2, and execution of complex MACD or infrastructure enhancements.

Requirements

• Must be within driving distance of Camden, AR and willing to work onsite and willing to work onsite
• 7 - 9 years of relevant, professional experience
• Proficient with: NetApp, Pure storage, Infinidat & Nimble, VMware VSAN, Ansible
• Please note that pursuant to a government contract, this specific position requires U.S. citizenship status.

Responsibilities

• Design, manage, and optimize SAN arrays and storage systems in scope (NetApp, Pure, Infinidat, Nimble, VSAN).
• Architect and troubleshoot LUNs, datastores, replication, deduplication, snapshots, and DR failover processes.
• Lead firmware/OS upgrades for SAN, compute hosts, and backup appliances.
• Own Avamar/Data Domain environment health, capacity, replication, and restore performance.
• Act as final escalation for server, virtualization, and cloud platform incidents.
• Coordinate and validate vendor escalations and hardware replacements.
• Create complex runbooks (disaster recovery, storage provisioning, backup retention policies).
• Participate in environment baselining, service health reviews, and performance analytics per SOW.
• Lead root-cause analysis and produce technical reports.
• Mentor L1/L2 engineers.
