About The Position

The TekSynap is seeking a Senior Information Management Specialist. The Senior Information Management Specialist serves as Key Personnel under the NSWCDD Corporate IT Services contract. This position provides comprehensive information management oversight for NSWCDD IT systems, ensuring the effective organization, control, security, and accessibility of data and information assets. The Senior Information Management Specialist develops and maintains Navy-compliant information governance practices while supporting IT program execution, data lifecycle management, and cybersecurity alignment with DoD and NAVSEA standards. We are seeking a Senior Information Management Specialist to join our team at Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD). Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related discipline.
  • Minimum of six (6) years of professional experience managing information systems and data resources within a DoD, Navy, or federal IT environment. Experience should include documentation management, information governance, or IT program data coordination.
  • Must meet DoD IAM Level III certification requirements (e.g., CISM, CISSP, GSLC).
  • Proficient in enterprise information management systems, SharePoint administration, and digital recordkeeping tools.
  • Comprehensive understanding of DoD and Navy information management policies, cybersecurity standards, and RMF documentation requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee information management systems, processes, and documentation for NSWCDD IT programs.
  • Ensure compliance with Department of Defense (DoD), Navy, and NSWCDD information management policies, standards, and best practices.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain processes for document control, records retention, and data lifecycle management.
  • Support digital transformation and data modernization initiatives, including migration to cloud and enterprise content management platforms.
  • Collaborate with IT, cybersecurity, and program leadership to ensure alignment between information management practices and RMF controls.
  • Monitor and audit information management processes for accuracy, integrity, and compliance.
  • Coordinate information sharing between internal stakeholders and external partners while maintaining security and confidentiality.
  • Support knowledge management initiatives to ensure accessibility of key program and operational documentation.
  • Assist in the development of information management training materials and user guidance documentation.
  • Participate in working groups and governance boards related to IT data and content management.
