About The Position

This Opportunity WSP is currently initiating a search for a full-time Senior Professional Industrial Water Treatment Engineer to work out of our Lakewood, Colorado office. Be involved in projects with our Industrial Wastewater Treatment Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives and solves their challenges. Your Impact Manage clients, projects, and staff involved in a variety of industrial and mine water treatment projects. Support designing industrial and mine water treatment plants including alternatives analyses, process design from conceptual through detailed design. Effective collaboration and coordination within a multi-disciplinary project environment. Provide procurement and construction support. Provide commissioning and start-up support. Support current operating plants with plant optimization and process decisions. Participate in business development opportunities and assist in developing proposals including scope, schedule, and budget. Achieve key performance goals through project work and winning work. Mentor early career staff to support their growth and professional development. Collaborates with professionals from a variety of disciplines to provide future ready solutions for clients. Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures. Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs. Who You Are

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Environmental or Chemical Engineering, with a focus in Water Treatment or closely related discipline.
  • Engineer in Training Certification.
  • 7+ years of relevant post education experience in a design or consulting engineering firm working on industrial and mining water treatment projects.
  • Strong engineering skills in process development and detailed design projects.
  • Ability to work both collaboratively and independently
  • Self-starter with strong written and verbal skills
  • Manage engineering teams on small and large complex projects
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word along with graphics software necessary for the conceptual design of Industrial wastewater systems.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing intricate ideas effectively and professionally to an engineering and non-engineering audience.
  • Highly capable self-leadership and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to effectively, persuasively, and tactfully interact with clients, regulators, project managers, and employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Proficiency with technical writing, office automation and communication software, technology, math principles, predictive models, and tools.
  • Developed critical thinking and problem-solving skills required to apply technical knowledge to reach conclusions from testing results, data collation, statistical analysis and arriving at the most effective, economical, and logical solution.
  • Ability to work independently and provide guidance and leadership to junior team or project members, with strict adherence to QA/QC.
  • Demonstrated effectiveness at coordinating and assertively directing subcontractors and others to consistently complete tasks safely and efficiently.
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
  • Must be flexible to a variety of schedules to meet business needs and able to prioritize responsibilities and quickly adapt to change in a pressure work environment.
  • Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements.

  • Professional Engineer registration
