About The Position

The Controls Engineer will be responsible for the interpretation of scope and hardware/software design, database creation, graphical user interface, and the implementation of procedures and standards used in the design and programming of controls projects. The Controls Engineer will assist the installation tea m with system commissioning and device verification in the field. What you'll do: Configure and program HVAC building automation and control systems (direct digital controls) and create sequence of operations. Develop and test software programs to operate the system. fie ld change information for as-built drawings and software . Perform tasks as to execute and fully complete assigned projects including: system programming, integration, system and network commissioning and project closeout. Complete hardware design and software programming using established standards . Manage and complete the loading, device verification, and commissioning of all system controllers as . Validate complete system functionality and resolve issues with subcontractors and others to ensure proper operation. Provide accurate project as-built and commissioning documentation . Perform site-specific training for owner/operator on the total system in full or with assistance . Ensure owner/operator has been trained. Provide proper documentation and manuals for system operation. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in (mechanical) engineering or equivalent training and experience in a similar field.
  • 3 + years of technical, hands-on experience with systems design, commissioning and programming of digital HVAC controls systems.
  • Proficiency working with Alerton, Tridium, or Siemens
  • Strong communication , interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Must be highly organized and possess the ability to work in a high paced environment with the ability to prioritize tasks to meet the schedules given by leadership.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate independently and autonomously and take ownership of all tasks.
  • Must be able to maintain a professional appearance.
  • Qualified applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without the need for employer-based sponsorship currently or in the future.
  • Pre-hire requirements include a drug test and a background check.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of the concepts of HVAC controls in new construction, renovation/retrofit project types, components, and systems with the ability to program and commission pre and post installation , preferred.
