About The Position

The Senior Human Resources Generalist provides ongoing support in employee relations, coaching, performance management, employee engagement, HRIS management, and special projects. Functions and Duties: Serve as the first point of contact for employee relations. Advise on the interpretation and application of policies and procedures related to disciplinary action and conflict management. Conduct effective, thorough, and impartial investigations. Escalate issues as necessary to the Director of Human Resources. Coach managers in progressive disciplinary actions. Track and analyze employee relations issues and trends, diagnose root causes, and develop recommendations for corrective strategies. Makes recommendations to the Director of Human Resources. Participate in the design, development, and delivery of employee relations policies and procedures. Assist with the employee performance evaluation process. Complete employee separation processes (i.e., exit interviews, property retrieval, and IT requests). Process internal transfers and COLA adjustments. Serve as a collaborative thought-partner in the planning and implementation of employee engagement initiatives. Serve as backup to the Talent Acquisition Coordinator. Process required paperwork for all staff changes. Maintain current training and education tracking, certification, and licensure compliance within HRIS database. Ensure HRIS data integrity. Ensure proper maintenance and destruction of personnel files, in accordance with HR file retention regulations. Complete unemployment claims and support Director of Human Resources during unemployment hearings. Conduct exit interviews to identify opportunities for improvement and inform Director of Human Resources of identified themes. Provide timely, thorough metrics to inform HR best practices. Assist in the evaluation of reports, decisions, and results of the Human Resources department. Assist in creating and updating policies and designing supporting forms, workflow documentation, and knowledge-base resources, to continually improve efficiency. Support ongoing ad-hoc projects and initiatives. Collaborate with the Human Resources team in planning and executing all employee meetings, employee engagement initiatives, training, and development. Support compliance audits. Contribute to the overall success of Touchette Regional Hospital.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Organizational Psychology, Business Administration, or related field, required.
  • Minimum five (5) to years of Human Resources Generalist/Specialist experience.
  • Demonstrable understanding of general human resources policies and procedures.
  • Working knowledge of employment/labor laws and best practices.
  • Intermediate MS Office and HRIS systems proficiency.
  • Critical problem-solving skills required.
  • Desire to work as a team, with a results-driven approach.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong critical-thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Demonstrated history of building trust with broad stakeholders, including team members, organizational leadership, vendor partners, etc.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree, preferred.
  • Experience working with Labor Union, preferred.
