Our Advanced Display Hardware Development team is a dynamic, high-energy, and innovative group focused on developing designs of next generation display modules. The team is responsible for developing the electrical and mechanical design of the display modules and also reviewing and approving production display module design changes. We are seeking a high-performing Senior Hardware Engineer interested in leading the in-house development of GM display module backlight unit designs. You will be responsible for the electrical and mechanical design, development, analysis, and review of the display module with a focus on the backlight unit, for our next generation SDV (Software Defined Vehicle) architecture. You will be depended upon to build strong partnerships with internal and external customers. The Display Module Hardware Design team’s mission is to ensure our products are designed to target the growing needs of our customers while ensuring robust, well-designed hardware which meets GM specifications and testing requirements from early hardware through production design. The Role: In this role you will be responsible for leading the display module backlight unit development and integration activities. This will include utilizing engineering tools and processes to successfully develop the backlight unit components and systems for vehicle programs. The Sr. Hardware Engineer would be responsible to develop various display module backlight unit designs for existing and new architecture-based modules, and collaborate with Optical, Electrical, and ECAD engineers, run simulations, participate in design direction meetings, and create a collaborative environment with internal and external team members.
