This position in Sargent & Lundy’s Consulting group focuses on utility planning and advisory projects. The role involves transmission system planning and analysis, including studies in load flow, stability, short circuit, and electromagnetic transients (EMT) for various clients such as ISO/RTO and electric utilities. Key responsibilities include preparing new generator interconnection applications, which entails developing conceptual single line diagrams, verifying compliance with reactive power requirements, and creating steady-state, dynamic, and short circuit models. The consultant will also review ISO feasibility and system impact studies to provide guidance to ISO Interconnection Customers. This position operates on a hybrid work schedule, requiring in-office presence 3 days per week. Furthermore, the role expects the individual to lead others in leveraging modern tools like automation and AI to enhance workflows, minimize rework, and deliver cost-effective designs. This includes directing automation and process-improvement initiatives, such as automating calculations, summarizing technical documents, or generating design documentation, and guiding the appropriate use of AI or agentic AI tools while ensuring result verification.
