Graphic Designer – University Unions The Division of Student Affairs is the hub of student life and well-being at The University of Texas at Austin. At times, this position may be work nights, evenings, and/or weekends as specific business needs require. Graphic Designer – University Unions Purpose: Reporting to the Senior Graphics Designer, this position provides graphic design from concept development, by consultation with clients, through the creation and revision process and complete production process including the development of specifications and solicitation of bids, when needed.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in communications, graphic design or visual arts.
Two or more years of professional experience using Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and After Effects.
Excellent organizational, problem-solving and communication skills.
Ability to challenge the status quo while still maintaining the integrity of a brand.
Experience managing multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

Evaluate design concepts and layouts based on knowledge of design and layout principles using publications and purchased materials as necessary.
Interact with clients to determine, develop and refine the advertising and other graphic design pieces to meet their needs and wants, including periodic coordination of projects with other creative service providers.
Use computer graphic software and traditional graphic design to produce creative materials that include brochures, newsletters, logos, catalogues, newspaper and magazine ads, posters, promotional materials, t-shirts, banners, visual displays, digital slideshows and web graphics to ensure quality and brand consistency while meeting production deadlines.
Maintain an archive of your current jobs, photos and graphic images.
Maintain your job schedule, prioritize, and track your job projects.
