About The Position

Ayoroa Simmons LLC is a BIM-centric services firm helping owners and project teams turn real-world facilities into accurate, usable digital information—supporting better decisions across design, construction, and operations. We specialize in BIM/VDC and reality capture, and we’re building modern geospatial capabilities that connect facility data to BIM and FM ecosystems. We are seeking a Senior GIS Manager to lead the integration of GIS, BIM, and indoor mapping for our Government facilities portfolio. The Senior GIS Manager will lead our geospatial strategy for facility-centric work—designing and operating GIS programs that integrate with BIM deliverables and Facility Management (FM) platforms. This role is ideal for a hands-on GIS leader who can build scalable data governance, enable BIM–GIS workflows, and translate facility and asset data into actionable systems for owners.

Requirements

  • 10+ years in GIS delivery with 2+ years leading teams, programs, or enterprise implementations (title level flexible based on scope).
  • Expert-level proficiency with Esri ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, and/or ArcGIS Enterprise (services, permissions, publishing, and governance).
  • Demonstrated experience integrating GIS with at least one of the following: BIM workflows, FM/CMMS/IWMS, asset management, or digital twin initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of geospatial data modeling (feature classes, domains, subtypes), spatial reference systems, and data QA/QC.
  • Working knowledge of automation and integration methods: Python, REST APIs, and/or ETL tooling (e.g., FME).
  • Ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders (owners, FM teams, BIM/VDC teams, and project managers).

Nice To Haves

  • GISP certification and/or Esri Technical Certifications.
  • Familiarity with facility data exchange concepts such as COBie, IFC, and asset attribution strategies for operations.
  • Experience with indoor GIS, space management, and campus/portfolio-scale facility mapping.
  • Knowledge of BIM coordination tools such as Navisworks Manage and CDE workflows.
  • Exposure to reality capture deliverables (point clouds, registration workflows) and alignment practices.
  • Understanding of information management standards (e.g., ISO 19650) and data governance frameworks.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Ayoroa Simmons’ GIS program for facilities, including standards, governance, and delivery quality across projects.
  • Architect and manage enterprise geospatial data environments (e.g., Esri ArcGIS Enterprise/ArcGIS Online, geodatabases, services, and user access).
  • Design and implement BIM–GIS integration workflows that connect Revit/Navisworks outputs, asset data, and spatial context for owner/operator use cases.
  • Enable FM integration patterns (asset hierarchies, space/room data, work order and lifecycle attributes) to support platforms such as IBM Maximo, ARCHIBUS, Planon, or similar.
  • Develop repeatable data pipelines for facility mapping, space management, and asset attribution (including ETL/ELT processes using tools like FME, Python, and APIs).
  • Collaborate with reality capture and Scan-to-BIM teams to align point clouds, as-builts, and spatial reference frameworks for accurate facility datasets.
  • Establish QA/QC processes for spatial accuracy, schema compliance, metadata, and lifecycle maintainability of client deliverables.
  • Coach and mentor GIS analysts and cross-discipline staff; document workflows and support internal training to scale capability.

Benefits

  • 401(k) with 4% company match
  • Comprehensive health, dental, vision, and life insurance
  • Paid Time Off (PTO)
  • Employee referral program
