The Senior General Manager of Operations will provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for a multi-billion-dollar greenfield lithium-ion battery manufacturing facility with a workforce of 4,000 employees. This role is responsible for ensuring operational excellence, driving key performance metrics, and leading large-scale production teams to achieve safety, quality, efficiency, and cost targets.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or a related technical field
  • 5+ years at the Director of Operations level within a high-speed, high-volume manufacturing facility.
  • 10+ years of leadership experience in large-scale 24/7 manufacturing operations.
  • Proven success in launching or scaling greenfield manufacturing operations.
  • Strong background in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Hoshin Planning.
  • Hands-on experience with SAP or other ERP systems for production and supply chain management.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee end-to-end manufacturing operations, ensuring efficiency, safety, and quality across the entire production process.
  • Develop and execute strategic production plans aligned with corporate objectives.
  • Drive KPIs in safety, quality, output, cost, and overall equipment efficiency (OEE).
  • Foster a safety-first culture by implementing Behavior-Based Safety (BBS) programs and ensuring compliance with all OSHA, environmental, and regulatory standards.
  • Promote sustainability initiatives and environmental responsibility in alignment with corporate ESG goals.
  • Implement and oversee Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Hoshin Kanri methodologies to improve production performance.
  • Ensure strict adherence to ISO, IATF, and other industry-specific quality management systems.
  • Lead Autonomous & Preventive Maintenance programs, ensuring long-term equipment reliability.
  • Lead and mentor a high-performing team, focusing on succession planning, training, and performance development.
  • Drive a culture of accountability, collaboration, and operational excellence.
  • Lead organizational transformation as the company scales operations, navigating the challenges of a greenfield startup.
