About The Position

This position performs advanced fiscal support functions, including processing supplier invoices for timely payment. It involves creating and maintaining supplier and customer contracts within the financial system, ensuring compliance with county policies and accurate setup for billing and payments. The role also provides backup support for bi-weekly payroll processing, assisting with payroll audits, data entry, and ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable laws and policies. Additionally, it offers backup support for daily collections payment postings, prepares and posts journal entries, assists with account reconciliations, and supports general accounting functions. The incumbent will utilize the financial system to perform other assigned duties. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Five years of post high school work experience in finance or accounting (for Senior Fiscal Specialist).
  • An associate degree from a recognized college or university with a major in finance or accounting may substitute for two (2) years of the work experience requirement (for Senior Fiscal Specialist).
  • A bachelor’s degree from a recognized college or university with a major in finance or accounting may substitute for four (4) years of the work experience requirement (for Senior Fiscal Specialist).
  • Three years of post high school work experience in finance or accounting (for Fiscal Specialist).
  • Post high school education from a recognized college or university in accounting, finance, business, or a closely related field may be substituted for the work experience requirement on a year-for-year basis (for Fiscal Specialist).

Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced fiscal support functions including processing supplier invoices for timely payment.
  • Create and maintain supplier and customer contracts within the financial system, ensuring compliance with county policies and accurate setup for billing and payments.
  • Provide backup support for bi-weekly payroll processing, including assisting with payroll audits, any necessary data entry, and ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable laws and policies.
  • Provide backup support for daily collections payment postings.
  • Prepare and post journal entries, assist with account reconciliations, and support general accounting functions.
  • Utilize financial system to perform other duties as assigned.
