About The Position

PLEASE BE AWARE - This is a promotional opportunity for current, classified employees of Idaho State University only. To perform a variety of para-professional financial duties including developing and maintaining records, documents, reports and financial data; review financial documents and records; perform some entry level accounting, bookkeeping or audit functions; and perform related work. The successful candidate will manage ISU’s shipping, receiving, and fixed asset operations to ensure accurate tracking, accountability, and compliance with state and university requirements. The position provides leadership in supervising staff, implementing training and safety protocols, and overseeing the university’s RFID fixed asset tracking system. It ensures that packages and university purchases are received, processed, and delivered in a timely manner, while maintaining accurate records. In collaboration with the Division of Finance, the position supports fixed asset accounting by ensuring assets are properly tagged, inventoried, disposed of, and reported in accordance with state deadlines and standards.

Requirements

  • Some knowledge of: Accounting principles and practices.
  • Good knowledge of: Financial record keeping methods.
  • Experience: Bookkeeping.
  • Using advanced Microsoft Excel functions.
  • Researching and compiling financial info and preparing summaries and reports.
  • Using personal computers to retrieve, edit, and analyze financial data.
  • Specialty Requirements - Some positions at ISU may require knowledge of supervisory practices.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises staff in Shipping/Receiving and Inventory (20%)
