About The Position

We’re looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Senior Financial Analyst to join our Direct Group Financial Planning & Analysis team. In this role, you’ll help shape financial strategies, support key business decisions, and provide insights that drive performance across the organization. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Data Analytics, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or related discipline).
  • 2–4 years of experience in FP&A or a similar financial role.
  • Working knowledge of SQL and BI visualization tools (including advanced Excel dashboards).
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to connect financial results to business performance.
  • Solid understanding of financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills; proficiency with all MS Office tools.
  • Experience building financial models and supporting data-driven decisions.
  • Strong time-management skills with the ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comfortable improving processes, managing projects, and working collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain financial topics clearly to both financial and non-financial audiences.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Workday or Adaptive Insights is a plus.
  • Insurance industry experience (Life or P&C) is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Review Monthly Results: Review and validate monthly financial results, turning data into clear insights that help our business partners understand performance.
  • Lead Budgeting & Forecasting: Manage the annual budget and monthly forecasts, helping teams understand trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Track Performance Metrics: Build and maintain reports that highlight KPIs and financial metrics, explain variances, and identify ways to improve results.
  • Partner with Business Units: Work closely with enterprise and other group FP&A teams, corporate finance, operations, and leadership teams to provide insights and support strategic discussions.
  • Work with Data Tools: Extract and analyze financial, operational, and production data using SQL, and present insights through clear, user-friendly dashboards and visualizations in Tableau or similar BI tools.
  • Maintain Databases: Develop and support SQL Server databases and Excel-based tools that improve data accessibility, enhance automation, and ensure reliable reporting infrastructure.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement enhancements to streamline workflows, increase data accuracy, and reduce manual effort through smarter processes and automation.
  • Support Key Initiatives: Perform cost/benefit analyses and other special projects that help guide strategic decisions and support our growth initiatives.
  • Ad Hoc Analysis: Provide thoughtful financial modeling and deep-dive analysis when new questions or opportunities arise.
