This opportunity is for a full-time senior level construction materials field testing technician in Tempe, AZ, requiring a minimum of three to five years of construction materials testing experience. The role involves field testing of concrete, soil, asphalt, and other construction materials, as well as mix design processes, in accordance with ASTM, AASHTO, and State procedures. Responsibilities also include documenting test results and assisting project managers and engineers.

Requirements

• Minimum of three to five years of construction materials testing experience
• Experience must include field testing of concrete, soil, asphalt, other construction materials, and mix design processes in accordance with ASTM, AASHTO, and State procedures
• Strong communication and detailed writing skills
• Basic math and writing skills
• Strong work ethic and ability to work as a team player
• Capable of working independently
• Availability to work irregular hours and on weekends
• American Concrete Institute (ACI) Field Testing Technician Level I certification
• American Concrete Institute (ACI) Aggregate Testing Technician Level I & II certification
• American Concrete Institute (ACI) Strength Testing Technician certification
• American Concrete Institute (ACI) Masonry Testing Technician (Field) certification
• ATTI Field Testing certification
• Good communication and organizational skills
• Computer skills
• Good math skills
• Clean driving record
• Pass pre-hire drug screening
• Physical examination required to obtain medical clearance to work
• Ability to stoop, kneel and to routinely lift and carry 50 pounds
• Able to work in variable outside conditions, including extreme heat or cold if need

Responsibilities

• Testing and inspection of construction materials such as soils, concrete, masonry, and hot mix asphalt, for quality control/quality assurance in a laboratory setting as well as on construction job sites
• Discussion of test results with client's on-site representative
• Preparation of daily reports on project specific activities
