About The Position

This position is responsible for sales, distribution, and retail execution within an assigned area. Key duties include managing distributor relationships, educating and motivating sales representatives to expand distribution, increasing sales, and enhancing chain execution. The role requires maximizing the sales and distribution of all company products in the territory through local and national sales programs and initiatives. The representative will apply a strategic sales approach to target key markets, establish a dominant presence, and execute promotional activities with partners. This involves aggressively identifying, targeting, and marketing to existing and potential accounts, both independently and with distributors, to optimize distribution, shelf space, and merchandising efforts. Building strong relationships with distributors is crucial, achieved by regularly attending and leading meetings, keeping management informed of company initiatives, and tracking performance. The role also involves training and motivating distributor sales reps on product knowledge, sales techniques, brand pitches, and promotions to foster a 'Multiplier Effect'. Developing and maintaining strong relationships with key retailers, coordinating marketing crew drives, and executing marketing promotions at customer locations, festivals, and events are also essential. The representative will utilize distributor data and reporting tools to identify opportunities for new distribution, increased volume, and other business insights. Daily sales activity and weekly results must be recorded to support sales and bonus objectives, and sales goals set with the Regional Sales Director must be met. Collaboration with the Market Manager, Regional Sales Director, Marketing Manager, Key Account Team, and Sales Management Team is vital for retail success. Additionally, the position ensures company quality standards are upheld by distributors and retailers, maintains awareness of legal restrictions, and operates within those limitations. A flexible work schedule, including weekends and extended workdays, is often necessary. The representative is expected to maintain a professional appearance, a well-maintained vehicle, and represent the company positively.

  • Bev Alc Experience - Minimum of 1 year of experience in the Beverage Alcohol Industry.
  • Retail Account Knowledge – Experience in the selling and merchandising in the off and on premise retail account environment.
  • Wholesaler Knowledge - Knowledge and experience within the 3-tier system with the ability to balance between the demands of wholesaler management and retail execution.
  • Data Analysis - Knowledge of VIP iDig, Karma, and Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, OneDrive).
  • Trade Math - Knowledge of common business/beer math to the industry.
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
  • Minimum Experience: 3 Years.
  • Age Requirement: 21 years or older.
  • Required Travel: Up to 30%.
  • Must have a reliable vehicle.
  • Good driving record, personal liability auto insurance required.

Responsibilities

  • Maximize the sales and distribution of all company products in the assigned territory through the establishment and appropriate execution of local and national sales programs and initiatives.
  • Apply a sales strategy to target key markets and establish a dominant presence in the Territory; execute promotional programs and activities with key partners.
  • Aggressively identify, target, and market to existing and potential accounts, both individually and in partnership with distributors, in order to maximize distribution, shelf space and “3P” merchandising efforts within an assigned territory.
  • Regularly attending and leading distributor meetings.
  • Keeping distributor management well-informed of company initiatives.
  • Tracking and measuring performance against key priorities.
  • Promote the “Multiplier Effect” by training and motivating distributor sales reps on product knowledge, company sales techniques, brand pitches & promotions, that encourage reps to act as our employees would act in the trade.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key retailers in the assigned territory.
  • Coordinate marketing crew drives in various locations in and outside of an assigned territory.
  • Create and execute marketing promotions with customers, festivals, and events.
  • Use distributor data and reporting tools to identify opportunities for new or expanded distribution, lost sales, incremental volume increases, and other business insights.
  • Record daily sales activity and weekly results as required by the company and providing necessary back-up to support sales and bonus objectives.
  • Meet and maintain sales goals that are set regularly with the Regional Sales Director.
  • Communicates to and collaborates with the Market Manager, Regional Sales Director, Marketing Manager, Key Account Team, Sales Management Team and whoever is necessary to win at retail.
  • Ensure the company’s quality standards are understood and enforced by distributors and retailers.
  • Maintain an understanding of all legal restrictions regarding company products in each market and ensure all initiatives are executed within those limitations.
  • Maintain a flexible work schedule as weekends and extended workdays are often necessary.
  • Uphold a professional appearance, keeps a well-maintained and organized vehicle, and represents the company in a positive and reputable manner.
  • Perform other related duties as required or assigned.
