About The Position

This position will include a company vehicle and all tools and test equipment required to do the job. The Sr. Field Service Technician is responsible for post-sale installation, optimization, maintenance and management of highly technical communication systems. Focus on maintaining optimal performance levels across an integrated system while taking a pro-active approach to system level alarms/errors. Perform system hardware and software installation and optimization including advanced troubleshooting skills. Manage system availability through routine system maintenance and performance monitoring. Perform preventative maintenance routines to ensure proper system operation with focus on trend analysis and documentation of results. Develop solutions to difficult technical problems encountered as part of system implementation, upgrades or support issues. Total familiarity with the latest technologies and troubleshooting techniques in transport, communications and RF systems. Team with System Manager, Engineering, Project Management, Sales, System Technologists and our Service Partners to effectively design, implement, optimize and cut-over advanced communication systems which meet or exceed customer expectations. NG911 infrastructure installation, optimization and maintenance. NICE Public Safety installation, optimization and maintenance.

Requirements

  • 5+ years experience with Motorola Astro P25 Communications Systems, VHF, UHF, 700/800 Public Radio systems and 911/ECW/Airbus equipment
  • Associates Degree or EET, Technical Certified, Project Management, IT Certified OR Military Technical Certified
  • Experience with one or more of the following: P25 radio systems, NICE public safety loggers, LMR RF systems, wired/wireless communication systems, networking equipment, IT networks.
  • Must have very strong knowledge of wired/wireless communications systems, such as local area networks (LAN) and wide area networks (WAN), must be proficient in computer network installation, configuration and maintenance, NICE public safety loggers, systems to include cabling, channel banks, hubs, routers, switches, and bridges.
  • Must have strong knowledge in standard telephony and dedicated data circuits, as well as knowledge of packet switching techniques
  • Must be highly computer literate with proficiency in Google Suite and Microsoft Office.
  • Must have strong self-management skills and "people" skills to work closely with Motorola’s customers and subcontractor partner community, as well as Motorola Sales, Engineering, Project Management, and customer service teams.
  • Must be self-motivated and self-managed to perform the required duties at a distance from direct supervision.
  • Must be able to solve customer problems quickly during stressful situations
  • Use of equipment commonly used in the optimization and testing of Motorola Two‐Way radio (Communications Systems Analyzers, watt meters, TIMS sets, CPS, RSS, Antenna Systems Analyzers (FDRs), T1 test sets, etc.
  • Experience in the configuration and testing of Motorola two‐way radio and subscriber products.
  • Good understanding of Motorola Trunking, P25 and SmartZone systems
  • Performs troubleshooting at sub‐system level as a subject matter expert.
  • Strives for optimal system performance.
  • Able to develop and present technical training.
  • Provides guidance in integrating new tools solutions into the operations of the team.
  • On-call rotation
  • Up to 50%-75% travel within Colorado and Wyoming.
  • CET will be required within 6 months of hiring.
  • Must have/keep a clean driving record.
  • Must be able to obtain background clearance as required by government customer
  • 5+ years experience in one of the following areas: LMR, RF Systems, Radio Frequency, Radio Communications, Wired/Wireless Communication Systems, Networking Equipment, Network Support, Astro/P25, NICE, IT, Electronics, Systems, Networks, public safety OR military experience.
  • Must be able to obtain background clearance as required by government customer(s).
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely is required.

Nice To Haves

  • FCC License and industry certifications are a plus.
