About The Position

As a Sr. Field Service Engineer, you will travel to customer sites and perform troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair activities on SENS equipment. Supporting SENS Customer Service, you will be responsible for boots on the ground field service support, carrying the necessary tools and equipment. Travel availability and flexibility are essential to the role, primarily domestic with possible international travel. You will have the opportunity to support all product lines that SENS offers and increase your knowledge as our product offerings expand. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or 4+ years of related experience with troubleshooting, maintenance, installation and repair of electrical /electronic equipment.
  • Electrical and mechanical aptitude to perform real-time troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair.
  • Electrical safety knowledge and practices.
  • Strong communication skills with an emphasis on customer service.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, one-line diagrams, and specification literature.
  • Ability and willingness to work in various environments, including active construction sites.
  • Ability to use digital tools to respond to and document service requests.
  • Self-starter mentality with strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Handles complex issues and problems and refers only the most complex issues to higher-level staff.
  • Work directly with customers and installers in the field providing various field service activities for SENS offerings from planned maintenance, equipment upgrades, troubleshooting, and repair.
  • Utilize SENS specifications, drawings, certified electrical standards, work instructions, procedures, and customer orders to ensure product matches requirements.
  • Responsible for testing electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes to ensure compatibility and safety of the system.
  • Perform battery testing on VRLA, lead acid, Lithium-ion, Nickle-zinc and salt batteries.
  • Install battery monitoring systems on new and existing battery strings.
  • Responsible for adhering to all safety regulations and the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Keep detailed records to ensure adequate inventory of necessary supplies and parts.
  • Testing of products to ensure adherence to customer requirements.
  • When not travelling, support by answering technical support calls, returned material evaluation, and equipment troubleshooting in the lab.
  • Maintain an expert level of product knowledge and applications.
  • Assist internal field service engineers and subcontractors with troubleshooting and resolution.
  • Provide field training to FSE’s and sub-contractors as needed. The training may include equipment commissioning, equipment repair, safety procedures, and PPE usage.
  • Perform quality and safety audits during and after site visits.
  • Assist with computer network applications including troubleshooting and installation.
  • Maintain and transport a toolkit sufficient for the majority of field service tasks.
  • Feedback observations, customer concerns, and common issues that are encountered.
  • Create report summaries and other documents using test data and pictures gathered while onsite.
