About The Position

We are seeking a dedicated Senior Environmental Scientist/Project Manager to join our team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to manage complex environmental projects and requires a strong understanding of Michigan's regulatory framework, particularly Parts 213 and 201 reporting requirements. You will lead environmental investigation and remediation projects, ensuring compliance, high-quality deliverables, and timely execution.

Requirements

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with key stakeholders, including regulators and project team members.
  • Strong understanding of environmental due diligence principles.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple project assignments and meet strict deadlines.
  • B.S. degree in geology, engineering, or the sciences.
  • 5 to 10 years of environmental consulting experience.
  • Experience with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Industrial Stormwater Operator and Asbestos Inspector certifications.
  • OSHA 40-hr HAZWOPER certification.
  • Valid Michigan Driver's License.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 40 pounds and perform fieldwork.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and direct drilling, surveying, and laboratory services.
  • Oversee the removal of Underground Storage Tanks.
  • Provide construction oversight on environmental remediation projects.
  • Prepare and review Initial Assessment Reports (IAR), Final Assessment Reports (FAR), and Closure Reports.
  • Conduct and manage environmental due diligence projects, including Phase I/II ESAs, BEAs, and Due Care Plans.
  • Assist in data interpretation and preparation of site work plans, spreadsheets, figures, and technical reports.
  • Perform Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments to support property transfer transactions.
  • Prepare SWPPP plans, secondary containment, and environmental control studies and reports.
  • Mentor and train Field and Staff Scientists in conducting fieldwork and sampling.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
