Position Summary CVS Health is looking for a dynamic and driven Senior Engineering Manager to lead front-end engineering teams focused on building best-in-class digital experiences and delivering complex enterprise initiatives in close partnership with business stakeholders. In this role, you’ll lead multiple engineering teams and be accountable for both people leadership and execution excellence, developing strong engineers while driving predictable, high-impact delivery aligned to business outcomes. You’ll partner closely with Product, Design, and Architecture leaders to shape strategy, remove friction, and ensure teams consistently deliver results at scale.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of overall IT/development experience on building enterprise class frontend applications to support member facing web applications.
  • 2+ years of experience in a management role or leading software development team directly or indirectly which includes FTEs and onshore/nearshore/offshore consultants.
  • 2+ years of experience in SAFe Agile work environments.
  • 2+ years of experience with modern web/mobile/cloud architectures and distributed systems
  • Understanding of SDLC best practices, CI/CD, testing strategies, reliability, and performance
  • Experience driving operational excellence (incident response, RCA, stability improvements)

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop multiple engineering teams (8–20+ engineers total scope)
  • Partner closely with Product, Design, and Architecture to shape roadmaps and technical direction
  • Improve execution predictability, quality, and velocity across teams
  • Establish strong engineering practices (SDLC, testing, observability, reliability, operational excellence)
  • Create a healthy, accountable, high-trust team culture where individuals and teams can realize their full potential.
  • Manage cross-portfolio dependencies and stakeholder alignment
  • Use data and metrics to inform decisions and continuously improve outcomes
  • Manage, support, and evaluate engineers’ performance.
  • Hire new talent for the team and offer coaching and development opportunities.
  • Communicate and collaborate with other managers, stakeholders, and contractors.
  • Provide input in strategic technical decisions and solutions, when needed.
  • Provide technical guidance & support in all phases of SDLC.
  • Ensure delivery of high-quality products.
  • Identify production and non-production application issues.
  • Evaluate information and solve complex problems.
  • Understand complex systems and pay attention to details to avoid issues and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Be an advocate of security best practices, champion and support the importance of security within engineering.
