QuincePalo Alto, CA
34d$260,000 - $290,000

About The Position

We're looking for a Senior Engineering Manager to lead our Storefront team - a critical group responsible for Quince's upper-funnel customer experience across web and mobile. This person will own core surfaces including the homepage, discovery, collections, and recommendations that power product discovery for millions of customers. This is a highly cross-functional, full-stack leadership role for someone who can move between technical direction, hands-on decision-making and team building. You'll own some of the most strategically important initiatives at Quince. You'll thrive here if you're energized by complex consumer-facing challenges, comfortable working across platforms and motivated by the opportunity to see the business impact of your engineering decisions. This role plays a critical part in advancing both our team's goals and Quince's broader mission.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of industry experience, including 3+ years leading high-performing engineering teams.
  • Proven experience building and scaling large-scale e-commerce websites and consumer-facing systems.
  • Technical expertise in full-stack engineering with experience improving search/recommendation quality and relevance.
  • Proficiency in modern web and app technologies, including React, React Native, Next.js, Node.js and CMS platforms.
  • Experience partnering with Data Science to improve relevance metrics and optimize personalized user experience.
  • Experience with A/B testing frameworks and data-driven experimentation.
  • Deep familiarity with full-stack development workflows, product ownership, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Demonstrated ability to optimize service availability, performance, and stability through operational excellence.
  • Passion for technology, with a strong track record of driving impact in hyper-growth product environments.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and grow the Storefront engineering team in the US.
  • Own the upper-funnel customer experience - including homepage, discovery, collections, search and recommendation quality - across both web and mobile.
  • Architect and scale systems that support rapid growth across categories, countries and new customer segments.
  • Drive development of personalized and dynamic storefront experiences.
  • Translate ambiguous product requirements into clear technical direction and execution plans.
  • Partner closely with Data Science to integrate large-scale models, improve recommendation quality, and influence ML-driven personalization.
  • Ensure the team effectively navigates both web and app development cycles.
  • Foster strong engineering practices and a culture of quality, experimentation and continuous improvement.
  • Lead experimentation and data-driven product development initiatives that help shape business strategy and drive measurable customer and revenue impact.
