The Opportunity: As a Senior Engineering Manager at Iru, you will lead the teams responsible for our core backend shared services and front-end design systems that power our entire product suite. You will own foundational systems that enable product teams to move quickly, securely, and reliably at scale. You will manage a team of senior & staff level engineers and work closely with Engineering and Product leaders to define and execute on a platform vision that supports world-class enterprise software. We are looking for a senior engineering leader who has experience building and scaling platform teams, empowering senior engineers, and driving large-scale architectural initiatives in high-growth SaaS environments.

Requirements

5+ years of experience designing, building, and deploying scalable backend and frontend systems (Python, Django, FastAPI, React preferred)
4+ years of experience leading engineering teams
Experience building or scaling platform or shared services teams
Proven success driving large, cross-functional technical initiatives in SaaS environments
Deep understanding of distributed systems, API design, and service architecture
Experience establishing or evolving front-end design systems
Experience operating in high-growth startup environments with increasing organizational complexity
Strong ability to balance technical depth with organizational leadership
Required to work on-site 3x a week in our Miami office (Coral Gables).

Nice To Haves

Strong experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure)
Experience building internal developer platforms or tooling
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and developer productivity systems
Background in security-focused or compliance-heavy environments

Responsibilities

Manage and coach a team of senior & staff-level engineers, supporting their technical leadership, career growth, and cross-team influence
Create clarity around ownership, decision-making, and accountability at scale
Foster a culture of technical excellence, autonomy, and high craftsmanship
Define and drive the technical vision for shared backend services, APIs, and platform capabilities used across product teams
Ensure services are scalable, secure, observable, and resilient
Balance short-term delivery with long-term architectural integrity
Oversee the evolution and governance of our front-end design systems to ensure consistency, performance, and usability across products
Collaborate with Product leadership to shape roadmaps that align platform capabilities with business priorities
Identify and evangelize improvements in developer productivity, CI/CD, automated testing, observability, and code quality
Lead large-scale cross-team initiatives with measurable impact
Ensure predictable delivery of high-impact initiatives
