About The Position

The Mods & Outage Services Engineering (MOSE) Senior Engineering Manager will provide leadership to dedicated engineers and scientists across the various mechanical analysis teams, hardware design, mechanical and electrical components, fleet systems, and chemistry team to execute against business objectives, identify best practice and drive continuous improvement. These teams are responsible for providing support for GE Vernova Hitachi Nuclear Energy’s (GVH) next generation of Light Water Reactor (LWR) the BWRX-300, next generation reactor designs (GEN IV) and to products, designs and services related to servicing our existing fleets & fuel. This manager will work collaboratively both internally and externally with a global team of partner organizations and suppliers to successfully deliver for GE Vernova Hitachi Nuclear.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering discipline or relevant STEM discipline from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in engineering design and/or project leadership.
  • Minimum of 10 years of leadership experience (preferably in commercial nuclear or other highly regulated industry).
  • Eligibility Requirements The work location for this role is at the GVH Headquarters in Wilmington, NC
  • This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. If applicable, final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government.

Responsibilities

  • Report to the Engineering General Manager for Services Engineering
  • Provide technical and managerial leadership for multiple engineering first line managers & their respective teams.
  • Inspire, hire, coach and ensure the development of the team’s technical and leadership talent/depth
  • Establish and maintain strong working relationships with other internal engineering team managers, business leaders, project managers and stakeholders.
  • Interface with external partners, customers, the NRC or other applicable country specific regulatory agency, as required on technical issues.
  • Provide leadership supporting performance and program management of assigned work and ensure on-time fulfillment of engineering commitments in accordance with contract requirements, business procedures, industry standards and regulatory agency guidelines.
  • Provide the oversight and be responsible for planning, organizing, and managing the delivery of technical activities/tasks in support of engineering deliverables.
  • Drive the design, development, and maintenance of required systems in accordance with the program/project software requirements.
  • Provide guidance for use of systems specifications as required by other GVH technical disciplines and project design partners.
  • Provide guidance and manage external resources to ensure the quality of deliverables, enable flexibility and improved cost positions.
  • Support commercial and marketing opportunities to develop new business opportunities.
  • Protect the Intellectual Property rights of GVH.
  • Support GE Vernova initiatives, process improvement, simplification, and design to cost.
  • Support GVH quality requirements, including participation in design reviews, initiating, and responding to Corrective Actions.
