About The Position

The Senior Engineer, Facilities Engineering at Johnson & Johnson is accountable for the overall quality, safety, and compliance of Facilities systems, operations, and maintenance. This role is responsible for the compliance and monitoring of facilities/engineering systems related to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) of the Facilities and Utilities Operations through the Integrated Facilities Management (IFM) model, which includes Hard and Soft Services (e.g., Utilities, janitorial, pest control, landscaping, handyman, Cafeteria, and Security services). Additionally, the Senior Engineer leads eCMMS, Facilities Quality Systems, Investigations, CAPAs, trainings, SOPs, and internal/external audit compliance. An ideal candidate will possess experience in quality systems and facilities, coupled with excellent leadership skills to drive Facilities strategies and initiatives at the site. Key relationships involve engagement with Facilities Maintenance, various business units (such as R&D, Manufacturing, Deliver, Finance, IT, HR, Quality, EHS), outsourced partners, and external authorities, serving as a subject matter expert for quality systems to address quality and compliance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Science, Business Administration, or equivalent experience.
  • Five (5) years or more of experience in a Facilities/Compliance area, working with quality systems, facilities, process improvement, and/or administrative area in the industry, in a GMP product manufacturing plant environment.
  • Comprehensive knowledge in Investigations, CAPA, and RCA.
  • Must be a self-starter, able think outside the box, challenge the norm and drive change.
  • Experience in change management and able to collaborate and build strong partnerships internally/externally with customer focus.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to make effective decisions.
  • Ability to work on own initiatives.
  • Ability to adapt emerging trends and industry innovations.
  • Environmental and safety policies and guidelines knowledge.
  • Computer skills, including working knowledge of MS Office suite (e.g., Word, Excel, Power Point) and other specific software as required.
  • Contractor management.
  • Drawing management.

Responsibilities

  • Drive compliance and quality within Facilities Management.
  • Provide technical support to the changes in the impacted areas according to GMP and EHS&S regulatory requirements.
  • Act as Facilities compliance leader for area improvement, deviation and investigation evaluations, regulatory and compliance audits, and capital justification.
  • Support FM Service Providers.
  • Act as Quality SME in facilities, including but not limited to pest control, GMP utilities, drawing management, housekeeping management, etc.
  • Oversight of FM Service Provider’s daily performance and site operational opportunities by participating in Tier 1, Tier 2, and Supervisor meetings as applicable.
  • Identify recurrent opportunities in site assets / systems impacting Quality.
  • Assign root cause and create plans to mitigate / eliminate the opportunity.
  • Lead the eCMMS Maximo team and provide guidance for compliance of maintenance planning, scheduling, and documentation.
  • Responsible for adherence to Quality systems, including implementation of CAPAs, investigations, and trainings.
  • Provide technical support to the FM Service Provider to maintain the operating procedures up to date and oversight the FM Service Provider for the strict compliance.
  • Participate in IFM Governance Meetings and Processes including monthly SMT, inspections and similar.
  • Supervise FM service providers during subcontracted jobs to ensure compliance with the established requirements, KPIs, align with the facilities playbook and company policies, as applicable.
  • Lead the management and monitoring of the Facilities compliance metrics/KPIs.
  • Collect data and prepare periodic reports for management on operational data including but not limited to Pest trends, EHS&S assessments, and facility condition assessment.
  • Manage the FM reports and compliance.
  • Support in the installation, qualification, and validation of equipment to be incorporated into the Manufacturing and/or Facilities areas.
  • Coordinate and perform inspections inside and outside the facility to identify situations that may impact the proper functioning of the plant.
  • Ensure compliance with the ISO14001 Standards by reviewing the operation of the facilities.
  • Lead partnerships with Engineering, Maintenance, and Manufacturing to facilitate cross-functional problem-solving.
  • Support on maintaining / gathering site specific data and information to support regional and global metrics, programs, and performance analysis.
