We are seeking a Senor Systems Engineer Deputy Product Owner to join our Systems Engineering & Test Capabilities (SETC) team. The successful candidate will provide essential support in the development and documentation of requirements and interfaces, as well as design analysis, modeling and simulation, system integration, and trade studies. You will play a critical role in ensuring system compliance through the documentation and execution of system verification processes.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant systems engineering experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
  • Requirements management and development of systems engineering products, including system-level specifications, requirement allocation spreadsheets, and verification cross-reference matrices.
  • Experience with systems software, systems hardware, systems requirements, systems integration, and/or systems test.
  • Agile management tools and practices such as JIRA, Kanban, Azure DevOps (ADO), Trello, or similar platforms.
  • Previous work in an Agile/Scrum environment.
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Read, interpret, and apply MATLAB and Python scripts for system analysis and verification tasks.
  • Deliver technical briefs to subcontractors, senior executives, and customer organizations.
  • Lead cross‑functional teams in resolving technical issues involving multiple stakeholders.
  • Model‑Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methods using Cameo Enterprise Architecture, including SysML modeling, digital thread concepts, digital engineering workflows, and MBSE practices integrated with DevSecOps environments.
  • Prepare and present technical reports and briefings
  • Serve in leadership roles, including cross‑functional team lead and/or Product Owner (PO), within an engineering or technical environment.
  • Software development using Python, Ada, Visual Studio Code, and Git for version control and workflow management.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and document system requirements, interfaces, design analyses, models, simulations, system integrations, and trade studies.
  • Coordinate with cross‑discipline teams to meet customer and mission planning requirements.
  • Ensure Statement of Work (SOW) compliance through preparation and execution of system verification documentation.
  • Integrate software and hardware subsystems across the system architecture.
  • Apply structured, data driven methods to address technical and programmatic problems.
  • Contribute to project and program milestones
  • Follow established systems engineering processes, standards, and procedures.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers during task and assignment execution.
  • Support construction and management of backlogs for multiple development scrum teams.
