About The Position

This position provides environmental, health, and safety leadership to the Acton Campus which includes Corporate Office, Distribution Center and the Manufacturing Plant. This position is accountable for directing EHS activities, establishing EHS objectives and targets, and internal reporting of EHS performance. Overall, this individual is accountable for creating a strong EHS culture that engages employees throughout the Insulet Acton campus.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in EHS, or related-obtained diploma, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of eight years of relevant experience in a manufacturing setting
  • Experience in OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulatory requirements/standards
  • CSP (Certified Safety Professional)
  • Demonstrated expertise in the successful delivery of outstanding EHS results through effective program development, implementation, and management.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and related software
  • Effective communication / presentation skills, technical writing skills required
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to conduct training
  • Strong leadership skills
  • A combination of personal initiative and drive as well as collaborative skills
  • Able to work all shifts and some weekends as required to support business objectives
  • Possess the ability to stand and move for long hours per shift
  • Required to reach above shoulder frequently and below waist occasionally
  • Required to push and pull
  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs. if necessary

Responsibilities

  • Implement and maintain all Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Programs
  • Lead Acton campus safety team
  • Establish, complete, and file necessary documentation and reports in accordance with both internal and external requirements, regulations, and permits
  • Lead all EHS required activities, reporting and maintain the Compliance Calendar
  • Develop and Implement EHS Initiatives, Policies, Programs
  • Participate in establishing use of hierarchy of controls including administering training and setting standard of compliance for all employees
  • Engage with Cross-Functional Leadership and Employees to conduct incident investigations, safety talks, observe/correct non-compliances, eliminate hazards, and prioritize safety
  • Manage EHS Training and Documentation for all Employees and Contractors
  • Lead Industrial Hygiene surveys, Safety Reviews, Job Hazard Analysis, Accident Investigations, and analyze EHS trends
  • Execute Job Hazard Analysis for standard work and incorporate findings into standard operating procedures
  • Manage on-the-job injury/illnesses and return to work program in alignment with Worker’s Compensation requirements
  • Responsible for Contractor/Vendor safety programs onsite
  • Track and analyze Key Performance Indicators trends (KPI’s) for EHS. Develop and implement sustainable corrective actions
  • Ensure compliance with applicable Environmental requirements
  • Influence and collaborate effectively in a matrixed environment, engaging leaders and teams to embed compliance and accountability
