About The Position

ELIQUS, a co-promote with Bristol Myers Squibb, is the #1 prescribed brand overall in the U.S. and the top-selling non-specialty drug in the industry. Internally, it’s the flagship brand for the Internal Medicine Business Unit and a key anchor brand for Pfizer Inc. Eliquis remains a double-digit growth brand with significant performance and patient impact expectations through 2028. The Senior Director, US Eliquis HCP Marketing Lead reports to the US Internal Medicine Lead and is primarily accountable for developing and executing the business strategies and tactical plans for the HCP and Hospital channels. This includes prioritizing and differentially allocating resources across all three approved Eliquis indications (stroke prevention in NVAF, VTE treatment, and VTE prevention (orthopedics) to maximize patient and commercial impact. Importantly, the role will also play a significant role in managing the highly complex and successful US Alliance relationship with BMS so that a thoughtful and balanced approach to Eliquis commercialization is employed in an effective and efficient manner. The HCP Lead will direct, coach and motivate a team of direct reports as well as drive a cross-functional team of Alliance and Pfizer SMEs through quarterly performance reviews, the annual operating plan process and LOE planning specific to HCP strategies. This role requires an understanding of the US market and establishing strategies to maximize brand value and build brand loyalty in the face of a fast-evolving competitor landscape. They will enable the Customer Facing strategy with the IM Sales and Account Management leadership and enable AI programs and omnichannel efforts with CMO and Digital.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; 12+ years of pharmaceutical industry experience
  • Strong knowledge of the US healthcare market required
  • Demonstrated understanding and experience in US marketing, including omnichannel strategies, customer marketing and engagement and market access tactics
  • Ability to quickly grasp and commercialize complex data and to glean meaningful customer insights
  • Strong business acumen & negotiation skills and ability to effectively lead and influence a cross functional/indirect team
  • Financial acumen with the ability to sharply manage expenses, conduct ROI analyses and make financial trade-offs
  • Ability to lead and work as part of large, complex Alliance and matrixed organization
  • Demonstrated initiative, strong problem solving, decision making and leadership skills
  • Strong strategic skills, with the ability to translate strategy and analysis to a tactical, executable level
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills; ability to interact effectively both one-on-one and in groups
  • Ability to travel 30% of the time

Responsibilities

  • Drive the strategic vision and direction of a best-in-class HCP strategy for Eliquis in partnership with Internal Medicine LT; support the implementation and measurement of the promotional brand plan with extended Eliquis team
  • Inspire, coach, develop and support a team of 5-6 marketers to enable strong brand efforts and build team capabilities; develop a high performing team modeling our Pfizer Values and Actionable Attitudes
  • Understand key changes in the marketplace and leverage critical customer insights to help capture the greatest growth opportunities for the NVAF and VTE indications
  • Deliver an innovative LOE strategy in partnership with colleagues on the Internal Medicine LT, the BMS Alliance and agency partners
  • Ensure successful roll-out of omnichannel marketing campaigns and other commercial initiatives in line with approved plans and budgets
  • Forge strong and productive relationships with BMS Alliance leaders to further brand efforts and prioritize funding for HCP plans; navigate complex Alliance dynamic to ensure successful co-creation of promotional strategy
  • Effectively manage several agency partnerships, ensuring optimal allocation of Alliance and Pfizer-only initiatives and spend
  • Enable collaborative relationships with Field Force leadership to sharpen executional considerations for all CFC promotion, HCP segmentation and targeting strategies
  • Serve leading role in delivering quarterly performance updates and the development of the annual operating plan
  • Ensure a collaborative working environment with partner functions
