Typical Accountabilities: Ensures delivery of objectives at all sites within area of responsibility Defines Procurement strategy for own area and provides expert input to broader Procurement strategy development Leads the work with Line Managers to identify resource needs and secure resources from various departments to ensure flexible and timely satisfaction of these needs and progression of deliverables Manages, motivates, coaches and sets goals for Procurement leads to deliver the highest levels of performance Leads negotiations and the selection process of outsourced service and equipment suppliers and other external service providers Develops and manages contingency risk plans to assure timely delivery to quality, on site availability and budget Escalates issues to stakeholders as appropriate to mitigate risks to the patient and/or business reputation Leads key interactions with stakeholders to build reputation Leads knowledge sharing and dissemination of best practices Takes personal responsibility for creating a culture of leadership, creativity and collaboration Establishes and oversees process and institutions to ensure all Procurement work is carried out in accordance with the Safety, Health and Environment standards, AstraZeneca standards and applicable laws and regulations Supports senior staff to coach and develop talent to ensure a healthy talent pipeline and succession for senior positions in the Procurement function Typical People Management Responsibility (direct / indirect reports): Approximate number of people managed in total (all levels) - 20-30 Grandfather (manager of a manager) What is the global remit? (how many countries will the role operate in?): 2 or 3 countries at a minimum of 40% of time
