Senior Director System Pharmacy Business & Outcomes provides executive leadership for UMMS’s enterprise pharmacy business operations, outcomes analytics, and centralized procurement. This role is responsible for ensuring the financial sustainability of UMMS pharmacy services by unifying contracting, 340B program optimization, and purchasing under a single system framework. The Senior Director leads the pharmacy contracting and procurement function at the UMMS Logistics Center, consolidating purchasing across member organizations to maximize economies of scale, reduce costs, and strengthen drug access. In partnership with local site pharmacy leaders, this role develops strategies for central purchasing that enable the Logistics Center to efficiently manage automated dispensing cabinet replenishment, code cart replenishment, and drug shortage mitigation. The Senior Director also establishes a systemwide business intelligence and outcomes platform, ensuring UMMS can measure and demonstrate the impact of pharmacy services on affordability, access, patient outcomes, and enterprise performance. This includes building advanced analytic capabilities to evaluate financial performance, cost savings, population health trends, and the system’s strategic use of the 340B program. A critical part of this role is leading enterprise relationships with pharmaceutical manufacturers, GPOs, and wholesalers to optimize contracting terms, secure access to limited-distribution drugs, and drive cost savings. The Senior Director also partners with the UMMS employee health plan to align procurement and contracting strategies that improve affordability and medication access for employees. Through disciplined execution, advanced analytics, and strategic partnerships, this leader ensures that UMMS pharmacy remains an engine for cost savings, financial sustainability, and measurable outcomes.
