About The Position

We’re looking for a Sr. Director, Retail Development, to lead retail sales and development across the IMG portfolio, with an emphasis on entertainment and gaming properties. This role is focused on building and leveraging senior-level buyer relationships and decision makers, to drive incremental space, features, and retail programs across all channels. This is a high-impact, highly visible position that combines retail sales leadership, strategic planning, and hands-on execution. You will partner closely with Licensing, clients, and internal stakeholders to translate licensor priorities, key franchise moments, and retail insights into measurable commercial outcomes. The ideal candidate is both a strategist and an operator who can navigate a complex, fast-paced retail environment while advancing scalable programs that expand shelf presence, amplify retail marketing, and drive revenue growth across multiple accounts.

Requirements

  • 10–15 years of experience overall across licensing and consumer products, with a minimum of 10 years focused on retail sales and development, ideally within entertainment, gaming, or adjacent genres.
  • Deep, established relationships with national and specialty retail buyers and merchant leadership.
  • Proven ability to drive incremental space, features, and retail programs tied to brand and franchise priorities.
  • Strong commercial judgment, organizational rigor, and comfort operating in a fast-moving, high-expectation environment.
  • Clear, confident communication style with executive presence and strong cross-functional partnership instincts.
  • A resourceful, level-headed problem solver who thrives under pressure and takes ownership from start to finish.

Responsibilities

  • Lead retail sales and development across the IMG portfolio, focused on driving incremental shelf space, features, and expanded placement across all channels.
  • Own and maintain senior-level relationships with retail buyers, DMMs, and departmental leadership, serving as a trusted commercial partner.
  • Partner closely with Licensing and client teams to align licensor priorities and key franchise moments with retail opportunities.
  • Drive incremental retail programs beyond base assortment, including features, exclusives, promotions, and seasonal moments.
  • Collaborate with retailers, licensing teams, client teams, and licensees to activate programs across mass, specialty, e-commerce, and emerging channels.
  • Capture and synthesize retail feedback across accounts, translating insight into actionable recommendations and execution plans.
  • Deliver ongoing retail performance insights and strategic recommendations to optimize portfolio growth.
