Your Opportunity: Senior Director, Corporate Development Reporting to the Vice President, Corporate Development & US Renewables, the Sr. Director of Corporate Development leads opportunity origination, market scanning, transaction evaluation, valuation, and execution across North America. The Sr. Director independently assesses strategic investments, acquisitions, partnerships, and development opportunities, providing rigorous analysis, commercial insight, and strategic guidance. This role manages complex transaction workstreams and collaborates closely with cross‑functional teams to advance high‑quality, strategically aligned growth initiatives.

Requirements

  • Degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 8–12+ years of experience in M&A, corporate development, investment banking, private equity, or project finance.
  • Experience evaluating and executing transactions in energy, power, utilities, or infrastructure.
  • Demonstrated expertise in advanced financial modeling and valuation.
  • Experience working with cross‑functional teams and external advisors.
  • Analytical rigor and strong business judgment.
  • Strategic thinking with the ability to anticipate opportunities and implications.
  • Strong execution discipline managing multi‑disciplinary transaction workstreams.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across stakeholder groups.
  • High organization, professionalism, and executive maturity.
  • Curious, commercially minded, and intellectually rigorous.

Responsibilities

  • Identifying and monitoring market trends, competitor activities, and emerging opportunities across renewables, thermal generation, storage, and emerging technologies.
  • Building networks with developers, investors, bankers, and advisors to proactively source opportunities.
  • Leading evaluation of acquisitions, investments, and partnerships.
  • Conducting financial modeling, valuation, and scenario analyses.
  • Leading diligence processes and coordinating internal SMEs and external advisors.
  • Supporting negotiation of commercial agreements and transaction structures.
  • Preparing recommendations and materials for senior leadership and the Board.
  • Translating market, regulatory, and commercial signals into strategic implications and portfolio recommendations.
  • Leading cross‑functional workstreams with Finance, Legal, Operations, Strategy, and Regulatory.
  • Providing guidance to analysts and specialists involved in valuation and diligence.
  • Supporting the VP, Corporate Development & US Renewables with insights on risk, value, structure, and prioritization.
