The Mars Petcare Division, Science & Diagnostics (SDx), is seeking an accomplished corporate affairs leader to drive strategic business communications for our global division, supporting over 5,000 Associates. This leader will be responsible for designing and executing global internal communications strategy that aligns with our business objectives and our purpose: A BETTER WORLD FOR PETS. As a key member of the SDx Corporate Affairs team and the CA Leadership Team, this individual will partner closely with the function lead and regional teams to ensure a unified communications approach. They will spearhead the development and implementation of internal communications plans that foster growth, operational efficiency, and integration across a young, dynamic division uniting diverse businesses and brands in the science and diagnostics space. They will parter with the division President and senior leaders to lead our change and transformation initiatives in support of accelerated growth. Their efforts will be instrumental in connecting Associates to our vision and purpose, building a strong sense of Identity and belonging and cultivating a culture that supports our strategic ambitions. The Target Pay Range for this position is $185,640-$232,000 annually.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • 15+ years’ experience in communications and change management in agency or in-house.
  • Experience in a global matrix organization and managing relationships with senior leadership.
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills, strong presentation capabilities.
  • Understanding of latest trends, data and measurement in internal communications.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity in a fast-growing company and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong strategic agility and ability to apply enterprise-wide thinking
  • Drive for results with strong prioritization and project management skills
  • Confidence to share new ideas and ways of working

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a strategic business communications strategy that effectively conveys the business strategy and clarifies each Associate’s role in delivering on it.
  • Partner with the division President and senior leadership to align communication strategies with key business objectives, ensuring support for organizational goals.
  • Collaborate closely with Services & Finance and Portfolio Strategy teams to lead change management communications and transformation initiatives that support operational efficiency and business strategy execution.
  • Provide strategic leadership for all Leader and Associate communications, enhancing clarity around the division’s contribution to delivering a BETTER WORLD FOR PETS.
  • Cultivate Associate pride and engagement by partnering with regional teams to ensure consistent message cascade and alignment.
  • Work with People & Organization leaders to bring the division’s culture and behavioral shifts to life, reinforcing the vision and strategic priorities.
  • Foster stronger connectivity among Associates by breaking down silos and promoting a cohesive, collaborative division environment.
  • Lead a transformative approach to internal communication channels, enhancing information sharing and connectivity across diverse businesses and brands within the science and diagnostics space.
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of internal digital platforms.
  • Drive communications efforts to broaden understanding and inspiration about the division across Mars Petcare, Mars, and key senior stakeholders.
  • Play a pivotal role in planning and executing leadership summits and initiatives that strengthen leader-to-leader connections.
  • Lead the creation of joint communication assets—including messaging frameworks, presentation decks, and playbooks—for the Corporate Affairs team to support global leadership and regional teams.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of internal communication strategies using KPIs and data analytics.
  • Utilize data-driven insights to recommend and implement continuous improvements that maximize the impact of communication initiatives.
