About The Position

Reporting to the CEO, the Sr. Director of Programs ensures program services are delivered as required by contracts. Must be experienced in services found within SGA’s “Cycle of Opportunity” – early childhood, school based and community mental health and mentoring services, justice involved youth, workforce development, and college readiness.

Requirements

  • Bachelors in Social Service or Business Administration required. Master’s Degree in related field preferred.
  • At least twelve (12) years of extensive management experience.
  • Significant experience in organizational/administrative development, program management with a demonstrated track record of success.
  • Sensitivity to cultural diversity is required. Ability to communicate and cooperate with diverse families, various professionals and community groups.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Neighborhood revitalization efforts.
  • A clear understanding of the community(s) being served.
  • Demonstrated track record of strong community engagement skills.
  • Ability to perform and complete multiple tasks at the same time.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
  • Excellent management abilities.
  • Unquestioned personal and professional integrity and dedicated work ethic.
  • Innovative and analytic problem-solving abilities.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office tools and inputting services in an online database.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the management of designated SGA Programs, providing direction in programming, personnel, and program communication.
  • Must have extensive knowledge of Medicare servicing programs.
  • Must have early childhood and school-based and community mental health and mentoring experience, as well as workforce development and college readiness experience.
  • Must have experience managing a combined program portfolio of 7 to 10 million dollars.
  • Ensure that program services are of the highest quality.
  • Sustain and increase the agency’s program revenue and service delivery.
  • Secure funds to expand service areas and programs to enhance the Cycle of Opportunity.
  • Develop and maintain internal and external relationships at the local, state and federal level to ensure current programs and partnerships remain strong and help promote new opportunities.
  • Promote excellence in areas of community programs.
  • Work hand in hand with the program directors, managers and coordinators.
  • Lead the budgeting process for programs.
  • Set goals and targets for employees on performance related items.
  • Provide timely feedback to employees so they are able to adjust behaviors to meet and exceed expectations in their positions.
  • Execute progressive discipline up to and including termination.
  • Maintain sound financial management overall program budgets.
  • Ensure all program deliverables are met per contract requirements.
  • Manage productivity standards and requirements within contracts.
  • Represent the agency and building strong working relationships with community-based organizations and city, state & federal government agencies related to perspective programs.
  • Collaborate with all levels of senior management in identifying additional funding sources and responding to request for proposals.
  • Serve as liaison between existing dedicated resources to promote shared learning and best practice identification and communication.
  • Assessment/reassessment process for program efficiencies, clients/families, and direct service staff.
  • Ensure all statutory and regulatory requirements are met and all required licenses are up to date.
  • Ensure all department staff is trained regularly to meet compliance regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned.
