Path to College is seeking a dynamic, mission-driven, and people-centered leader to serve as our next Director of Programs. The Director of Programs leads the strategic planning, execution, and continuous improvement of Path to College’s academic and enrichment programming while developing and empowering a high-performing team of program coordinators and staff. This position is ideal for a leader who knows how to be firm and clear while leading with compassion, who can balance accountability with encouragement, and who thrives in a collaborative, fast-moving nonprofit environment. This is a full-time (40 hours per week) position with both in-person and remote responsibilities. Flexible scheduling is required. Bilingual candidates are strongly encouraged to apply. Salesforce CRM and classroom or youth program management experience are highly preferred. The Director of Programs is responsible for leading all education and enrichment programs, supervising program staff, supporting strategic partnerships, and ensuring that Path to College delivers high-quality, student-centered, and outcomes-driven services. This role serves as a core leadership partner to the Executive Director and plays a critical role in shaping the culture, standards, and future growth of the organization.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree and at least two (2) years of paid experience working directly with adolescents; OR
  • Bachelor’s degree and at least five (5) years of paid experience working directly with adolescents.
  • At least one (1) year of supervisory or management experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in college admissions, college access, or classroom-based education.
  • Strong technology and systems skills, including CRM and digital file management (design experience is a plus).
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed to support program operations.
  • A valid driver’s license, a good driving record, and access to a reliable vehicle.
  • Willingness to travel for training and meetings as requested by the Executive Director.
  • The ability to successfully complete and pass a Level 2 background check.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee the Salesforce CRM system to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant program data.
  • Lead grant-related program reporting, data collection, and foundation reporting in collaboration with development and executive leadership.
  • Work in close partnership with the Executive Director to guide strategic program planning, evaluation, and growth.
  • Serve in a temporary acting leadership capacity during the Executive Director’s absence, as assigned.
  • Establish and maintain clear systems, workflows, and accountability structures for the programs team.
  • Use data and outcomes to inform continuous improvement and strategic decision-making.
  • Lead the design, implementation, and evaluation of all academic, mentoring, and enrichment programming.
  • Ensure compliance with program guidelines, curriculum standards, and organizational policies.
  • Guide the development and execution of academic and mentoring plans and student engagement activities.
  • Support the creation of rigorous learning experiences, internships, and career exposure opportunities through strategic partnerships.
  • Plan and oversee high-quality workshops, training, community programs, and student events.
  • Serve as a visible mentor and leader to students, volunteers, and staff.
  • Supervise SAT tutoring services and partnerships and monitor curriculum quality and student outcomes.
  • Maintain and advance best practices in youth development, college access, and program design.
  • Integrate trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and student-centered practices into all programming.
  • Directly supervise, coach, develop, and evaluate program coordinators and program staff.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, learning, and professional growth.
  • Provide consistent feedback, coaching, and support to build leadership capacity within the team.
  • Address performance concerns with clarity, fairness, and compassion.
  • Encourage innovation, problem-solving, and ownership among staff.
  • Build strong cross-departmental collaboration to support organizational goals.
  • Develop and sustain institutional, community, and corporate partnerships that support academic enrichment, mentoring, internships, and sponsorships.
  • Lead and manage the College Prep Outreach program and promotional efforts.
  • Engage and train teacher ambassadors and school partners in support of Path to College’s mission.
  • Represent Path to College professionally in community and partner-facing settings.
