We have a Sr. Director IT position open in our Atlanta office.  This position will require working onsite in the Atlanta office. The successful candidate must have hands-on experience providing senior-level network systems and server administration skills in a geographically distributed environment. A degree in Information Technology or related field OR 7 years of previous IT management experience is required, along with previous experience working in a virtual environment: VMWare, Microsoft Azure; Windows Server administration, and Cisco Meraki networking experience; and experience administering VoIP phone systems. This position will focus on systems and application stability, security, performance, capacity management, problem analysis and troubleshooting, mentoring more junior team members and documentation of the existing practices in a professional environment.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience with advanced IT systems, networks, and architecture.
  • Understanding of network security, VPNs, and firewall administration, specifically Cisco Meraki
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive and effective working relationships with numerous inside and external contacts
  • Experience with multi-location networking with primary and failover network circuits.
  • Excellent and proven leadership skills.
  • Experience deploying, maintaining and troubleshooting extensive Wi-Fi networks and related end-user devices.
  • Proven ability to handle multiple high priority projects and balance time and resources as needed.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Expert hardware/software troubleshooting skills.
  • Expert level knowledge and experience in the following areas: patch management, XDR security suites, deployment automation, OS upgrades, security and system monitoring.
  • Expert in all aspects of Microsoft Windows Server operating systems in a mixed environment.
  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory and Entra ID administration and security. Expert in related skills such as DNS, DHCP, etc. Expert in Microsoft Group Policy deployments to ensure standardized settings, software distribution, and security policy enforcement.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office 365 and remote email and troubleshooting.
  • Strong knowledge and experience with server automation experience utilizing PowerShell, or related transferable skills.

Nice To Haves

  • A+ and/or Network+ Certifications preferred
  • IT Industry applicable certifications from Microsoft, VMware or ISC2 are preferred
  • Familiarity with VMWare virtualization tools and Microsoft Azure migrations.
  • Experience with implementing network management, security event log management, intrusion detection and intrusion prevention systems are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development, upgrade, and support of all IT systems, including servers, computers, switches, routers, local and wide area networks including VPNs, server and workstation operating systems, primary and secondary internet connections, VoIP telecommunications, software applications, and other peripherals distributed across multiple U.S. locations.
  • Oversee the maintenance and resource management of the virtualization environment and resources at the company.
  • Make appropriate plans to keep hardware devices and software applications current and compliant, execute such plans so that they minimize user disruption, and effectively use company funds and resources.
  • Participate and provide support for all IT projects by developing logical and efficient project plans, identifying priorities, monitoring task completion, anticipating issues, and collaborating with team members to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Continued support and development of DR plans, including managing backups both on and offsite as well as site-to-site replication and critical systems uptime and availability.
  • Integrate and collaborate with 3rd party software and hardware providers/vendors for all managed services and develop ability to monitor and evaluate those services effectively.
  • Work with the VP of Ops to help procure IT equipment and services in accordance with established best practice and budgets.
  • Ability to work within annual budgets and strive to ensure compliance with budgets across requests and needs of the company and the IT Department.
  • Involved with the security and maintaining integrity of company assets, intellectual property, and information by developing, adopting, and enforcing a computer and network security plan and by ensuring adequate redundancy and failover protection for critical company resources and systems.
  • Work with IT staff to develop strategies and plans to enhance client services, improve user effectiveness, and foster innovation.
  • Communicate regularly with VP of Ops, and other executive management and end-users of information services and systems.
  • Work with other IT staff, including department training, guidance and building team cohesiveness.
  • Support development of the IT staff to meet the changing needs of users, groups and systems, new projects and technologies, and provide internal support for staff of varying technical strengths.
  • Co-author and develop standard operating procedures and best practices, including providing written protocols and guidance to IT staff and to end-users.
  • Follow established standards for creation and maintenance of all written documentation, including system and user manuals, license agreements, and documentation of modifications and upgrades.
  • Assist with provisioning of end-user services, including Helpdesk and other technical support services.
  • Test and evaluate current network security standards on all related areas on the wired or wireless network.
  • Solve problems and communicate effectively and positively with others both verbally and in writing.
  • Occasional travel needed between all the company divisions across Missouri and Georgia.
