About The Position

Provide leadership and oversight of the company's national fleet assets. This executive role is responsible for optimizing vehicle utilization, routing efficiency, and total cost of ownership while ensuring compliance, safety, and sustainability across all operations. The Senior Director will lead enterprise-wide fleet strategy, leveraging technology, analytics, and vendor partnerships to deliver measurable cost savings, performance improvements, and return on investment.

Requirements

  • Expertise in national fleet management, asset utilization, and lifecycle optimization.
  • Strong negotiation and vendor management skills with large-scale OEMs and service providers.
  • Advanced financial acumen with ability to model ROI, TCO, and cost-per-mile analysis.
  • Proven leadership across multi-site or decentralized operations.
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations, compliance, and safety management systems.
  • Skilled communicator able to influence executive, operational, and field levels.
  • Strategic thinker with demonstrated ability to drive operational performance and continuous improvement.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field required; equivalent experience considered.
  • 10+ years of progressive fleet management experience, including 5+ years in a senior leadership role overseeing multi-regional or national operations.
  • Proven success in fleet procurement, lifecycle management, and implementing data-driven fleet systems.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all aspects of national fleet operations, including procurement, maintenance, replacement, and compliance.
  • Develop and enforce corporate fleet policies, standards, and KPIs to ensure consistency and operational excellence.
  • Negotiate national vendor and OEM contracts to secure favorable pricing, rebates, and service terms.
  • Implement and manage fleet management systems and telematics tools to enhance visibility, reliability, and data-driven decision-making.
  • Monitor asset lifecycle performance and establish replacement and disposal strategies to maximize residual value.
  • Oversee national fleet purchasing strategies to optimize capital deployment and reduce total cost of ownership (TCO).
  • Partner with Finance to develop budgets, manage depreciation, and deliver accurate cost forecasting.
  • Lead initiatives to reduce fuel consumption, improve route efficiency, and drive continuous improvement in cost per mile.
  • Ensure DOT and regulatory compliance through standardized processes, audits, and training.
  • Lead and mentor the Fleet Operations team, fostering collaboration, accountability, and professional growth.
  • Partner with regional and operational leadership to align fleet strategy with business needs and customer commitments.
  • Serve as executive liaison to vendors, maintenance networks, and internal stakeholders.
  • Oversee the Truck Graphics Program, ensuring consistent brand representation.
