About The Position

Senior Director of Equity and Inclusion The Foundation is excited to announce an opening for the position of Senior Director of Equity and Inclusion. This position is responsible for integrating racial equity into the organization’s priority level strategies.  They will partner with the Leadership Team to develop growth opportunities and serve as a resource to staff at all levels, offering practical tools to advance health equity, racial justice, and system change in collaboration with staff and communities we serve. Reporting to the Chief Impact Officer, the Senior Director partners closely with colleagues across the Foundation to integrate racial and social equity and inclusion into all aspects of the Foundation’s work. At the Foundation, we believe keeping equity at the heart of our work will lead to better health for ourselves, our organization, our communities and our state. This starts internally, including intentional application of diversity, equity, and inclusion practices to guide how we operate and work in communities across Colorado. Our cornerstones are designed to help ensure that: We serve Coloradans who have less power, privilege and income, and prioritize Coloradans of color. We do everything with the intent of creating health equity. We are informed by the community and those we exist to serve. Candidates must have a personal commitment and connection with our mission and cornerstones; work well in ambiguity and managing change; and proactively identify opportunities to advance our mission while remaining grounded in the day-to-day responsibilities. Extensive experience successfully leading and implementing enterprise-wide equity integration and organizational culture change leadership is required. Ideal candidates will: possess deep, practical understanding of the nuances of workplace and societal equity integrate and model cultural awareness in strategy and decision-making processes have a broad understanding of the social determinants of health, community change work, and philanthropy in the context of the communities we serve demonstrate and cultivate skills to lead through resistance, hesitation, or slow movement when the mission requires urgency anticipate emerging challenges and opportunities, using strong critical thinking and strategic agility to identify barriers, develop creative solutions, and make sound decisions in complex or ambiguous situations build and maintain strategic relationships to influence and negotiate across diverse interests co-design and reinforce systems that promote inclusive communication and collaboration across the organization s et clear goals, prioritize effectively, and take decisive action to keep work moving forward possess mastery in large and small group facilitation be able to work both independently and collaboratively, within and across teams have the attention to detail required to manage a large workload and relationships without losing sight of the mission be skilled at identifying issues, innovating solutions, taking initiative, and continuously improving practice

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree that would prepare for the work of community change and advancing health equity through racial justice
  • 10 years demonstrated experience leading and implementing enterprise-wide equity integration and organizational culture change leadership
  • 5 years’ management and leadership experience with progressive responsibility and scope
  • 3 years’ experience working in philanthropy, non-profit or public sector organizations
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
  • Valid Colorado Driver’s License
