About The Position

The Senior Director of Community Based Services oversees program performance and professional development, leads program planning, evaluating with continuous improvement and ensures services are high-quality, data-driven and aligned with organizational mission and goals. This position oversees our clinical and behavioral health services, and our child welfare programming within the foster care system statewide. Key Responsibilities Provides direct supervision of the Program Director of Foster Care Case Management, the Manager of Community Based Services and clinicians providing direct services. Provides trauma informed supervision for all direct reports, as appropriate for their job duties. Develops, implements, and monitors programs for therapeutic outcomes based on funding goals and requirements. Coordinates with other department heads to incorporate community service-based activities and program operations into the overall organization strategy. Responsible for hiring, interviewing, and developing staff. Planning, assigning and directing work; completing employee performance reviews annually on all direct reports. Ensuring employees are supported, treated fairly and equitably while also addressing performance or disciplinary issues. Monitors and reviews documentation within data management system to assure quality of service as well as timely compliance with standards of record keeping. Approves clinical notes and authorizations to ensure clinical integrity. Provide guidance and assistance to staff at times of crisis and if urgent matters arise. Strives to meet key performance indicators for all programs, works closely with the quality assurance department to ensure statistical reports and outcomes are monitored and utilized to drive performance improvements, where needed. Facilitates meetings internally and externally while striving to foster relationships between the organization and community. Attends any external meetings as necessary for the Community Based Services program. Remains current with regulatory requirements of each program. Supervised by and works closely with the Chief Operating Officer, ensuring timely communication as it relates to program outcomes, risk mediation and strategic alignment to ensure exceptional services and improved workforce measures. Serves as a liaison for external stakeholders for partnering, program development and issue resolution. Responsible for being trauma aware, sensitive, and responsive to youth, families and colleagues through the completion of new hire and annual trauma informed education and training. Responsible for other assigned duties.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in counseling, Social Work or related field and four to ten years related experience and/or training.
  • Must be licensed in the State of Missouri with an LPC or LCSW.
  • Prior leadership experience including supervision and oversight of employees and programming, demonstrated ability to provide a vision and inspire others, and a track record of making strong decisions that align with mission, values, and strategic goals.
  • Brings strong interpersonal competencies including communication, collaboration, an ability to develop and manage people, and ability to build trust.
  • A commitment to trauma-informed principles, including safety, trustworthiness, choice, collaboration, and empowerment.
  • Required to obtain and maintain training and certification as mandated by licensing and accreditation standards.
  • They must have reliable transportation and the capability to travel and report to all worksites.
