Senior Director of Architecture - Infrastructure Up-Lift and Modernization
About The Position
Acting as a bridge between the business and technical domains, you enjoy taking charge of diverse subject matter to create groundbreaking infrastructure technologies. As a Senior Director of Infrastructure Architecture at JPMorganChase within the Payments Technology Team in Corporate & Investment Banking Technology, you lead across multiple areas while bridging the gap between business and technical domains to ensure the execution of complex initiatives. Manage cross-functionally to drive the design and implementation of new infrastructure technologies to aid the firm in remaining at the forefront of industry trends, best practices, and technological advances. The Senior Director of Infrastructure Architecture will be responsible for the up-lift environment to help drive the firms strategy to keep our technology architecture and infrastructure updated with the latest technologies. This role will help modernize Payments Technology infrastructure supporting the broader firmwide AI adoption strategies and cloud journey designing and architecting resilient, scalable, enterprise infrastructure solutions.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification on architecture and modernization concepts and 10+ years applied experience. In addition, 5+ year of experience leading technologists to manage, anticipate and solve complex technical items within your domain of expertise and more broadly across the organization
- Experience developing and leading large and cross-functional teams of infrastructure architects and technologists
- Experience leading complex projects supporting infrastructure design, testing, and operational stability
- Experience hiring, developing, and recognizing talent
- Extensive practical cloud native experience
- Experience transitioning legacy infrastructure and practices to modern infrastructure architectures, platforms, and technologies.
- Experience with Terraform and multi-cloud environments
- Drives complex projects, processes and decisions to simplify and streamline outcomes.
Nice To Haves
- Preferred experience working hands-on with Python, Terraform, and AWS
- Prior experience in Payments Technology (internal or external) strongly preferred
Responsibilities
- Leads multiple infrastructure architecture process implementations across departments to achieve firmwide objectives
- Manages multiple areas with strategic transactional focus on infrastructure up-lift environment and modernization strategies
- Provides leadership and high-level direction to teams while frequently overseeing employee populations across multiple platforms, divisions, and lines of business
- Bridges the gaps with senior leaders, stakeholders, and executives to drive consensus across competing objectives
- Manages multiple stakeholders, complex projects, and large cross-product collaborations
- Communicates, documents, and presents delivery updates to senior stakeholders providing recommendations to continuously move projects forward
- Manages staffing, budget, and relevant profit and loss
- Leads, inspires, mentors, and coaches junior architects and technologists
