The Senior Director of Accounting is responsible for assisting the Chief Financial Officer and Controller in the coordination of the month-end close, annual budget and reforecast processes. The Senior Director of Accounting will manage the Accountant as well as handle general accounting functions that help provide separation of duties within the department. This position is also responsible for monthly bank reconciliations, all revenue account reconciliations and performing monthly P&L account analysis.

Requirements

  • Computer Skills – Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Proficiency in spreadsheet development and pivot tables
  • Ability to understand and monitor budgets and perform metrics.
  • Education - bachelor’s degree in accounting
  • Experience – Minimum of 5-7 years of progressively responsible experience in accounting/finance and 3 years supervisory experience.
  • Strong general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets and banking working knowledge.
  • Proven high level of organizational, financial management, project management and personnel management skills.
  • Ability to plan and think critically.
  • Capable of meeting deadlines.
  • A proven, genuine ability and willingness to translate complex financial reporting into easily understood material, and communicate it, as requested.

Nice To Haves

  • MBA or CPA certification preferred.
  • Nonprofit experience
  • MIP Accounting software experience preferred
  • Using AI tools and integrating AI into workflows to drive productivity
