About The Position

In this role, you will be responsible for: Technical & Operational Leadership Own and manage the general ledger across all domestic and international entities Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes Oversee foreign currency accounting and multi-entity consolidations Support accounting requirements related to complex debt transactions Ensure GAAP compliance and strong internal controls Systems & Infrastructure Serve as the internal NetSuite expert (Oracle NetSuite experience required) Lead optimization and expansion of NetSuite during transition from QuickBooks Build scalable chart of accounts, ledger structures, and reporting frameworks Improve processes and implement automation where possible Team Leadership Manage and develop 2–3 direct reports Establish accountability and high performance standards Create processes that reduce errors and strengthen reporting accuracy Strategic Execution Partner with leadership to provide clean, reliable financial reporting Proactively identify issues and present solutions—not just problems Help build the accounting infrastructure for international operations Identifying opportunities to improve systems, processes, or outcomes—not just following existing playbooks At TopDog Law, everyone is expected to think critically, communicate clearly, and take ownership of their work. How This Role Drives the Business The Director of Accounting will own and manage the TopDog Law general ledger across all entities. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring deep technical accounting expertise, strong GAAP knowledge, and significant NetSuite experience. The ideal candidate is not just a reviewer, but a doer. This individual must be comfortable preparing journal entries, managing reconciliations, solving complex accounting problems, and building scalable processes in a fast-moving environment. You will report directly to Vice President of Finance & Accounting and oversee 2–3 accounting team members (existing and future hires). Requirements

  • 5+ years of hands-on general ledger experience
  • Proven experience preparing journal entries (not just reviewing others’ work)
  • Strong GAAP technical accounting knowledge
  • Direct Oracle NetSuite experience (expert level required)
  • Experience in multi-entity environments
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
