Are you a Senior Director, New Business Development looking for the challenge of taking a mission‑driven organization to its next level of commercial success? Ornua is actively seeking a Senior Director, New Business Development to join the Ornua Family as we continue our strong growth trajectory across North America. This position will play a critical role in accelerating new customer acquisition, shaping market strategy, and expanding Ornua’s presence across the foodservice and manufacturing markets. You will drive high‑impact commercial initiatives, lead and develop an Account Representative, and support the advancement of our innovation and value‑creation objectives. The Senior Director of New Business Development will play a pivotal role in accelerating Ornua Ingredients North America’s commercial growth by identifying and securing new customer partnerships. With a focus on foodservice and manufacturing segments, this role will drive strategic selling efforts and manage one direct report. You will lead targeted prospecting aligned with Ornua’s core competencies and deliver innovative, value-driven solutions that expand our commercial footprint. You will report directly to the Vice President of Sales for Ornua Ingredients North America, headquartered in Hilbert, WI, with value-added ingredients manufacturing facilities located in Hillsboro, Hilbert, and Whitehall, WI, as well as Byron, MN. You bring a strong commercial mindset, a passion for developing new customer partnerships, and a proven ability to lead strategic business development efforts in complex, fast‑moving environments. You thrive in roles where you can combine strategic thinking with hands‑on execution, and you excel at turning insights into actionable growth strategies. Your leadership style empowers teams, strengthens cross‑functional collaboration, and elevates the customer experience. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, science or related field
  • Minimum of ten (10) years’ business development, sales, or commercial strategy experience, preferably in a leadership capacity
  • Proven track record of acquiring and converting new customers
  • Proven leadership experience coaching and developing high performing sales talent
  • Ability to sell technical solutions across functional and value-driven categories
  • Strong strategic prospecting and consultative selling skills
  • Strong executive presence and ability to influence senior stakeholders
  • Ability to effectively plan and measure sales performance against budgetary goals
  • Excellent presentation, negotiation, influencing, and relationship-building skills
  • Must be able to travel routinely for prospecting and customer engagements
  • Remote position; ideal candidate will live in close proximity to major airport

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Prospecting & Business Development
  • Identify and convert high-potential prospects aligned with Ornua’s core competencies
  • Build and manage a robust pipeline through targeted outreach and market intelligence
  • Represent Ornua at industry events to expand visibility and generate leads
  • Develop tailored engagement plans with a consultative, solution-oriented approach

  • Develop and coach direct reports to ensure delivery of strategic new business acquisition objectives
  • Establish and effectively manage commercial KPIs across team, including but not limited to prospecting activity, sales funnel, customer visits, sales performance, and related commercial KPIs
  • Customer-Centric Solution Development
  • Partner with prospects and internal teams to co-create solutions that meet functionality and value needs
  • Translate prospect needs into actionable briefs and facilitate R&D alignment
  • Sales Execution & Operational Excellence
  • Ensure responsiveness and delivery of critical sales resources
  • Collaborate on pricing strategies that support new business goals
  • Market Intelligence & Value Creation
  • Analyze market trends to identify whitespace opportunities
  • Provide insights to enhance sales strategy and customer experience
  • Leadership Engagement & Brand Stewardship
  • Coordinate executive-level engagements to support strategic prospect conversion
  • Represent Ornua’s brand with professionalism and commercial acumen
