About The Position

The Leader, Embedded Partnerships at Paychex is responsible for developing and driving the partner-led growth strategy that support's Paychex's mission and business objectives. This leader will be at the forefront of forging and managing strategic partnerships that integrate our solutions seamlessly into third-party platforms. You will be accountable for growing partner-led revenues and drive the end-to-end partner lifecycle from strategy design to partner success management. You will leverage your deep understanding of the SaaS landscape and your expertise in building robust partnerships to drive mutual value for Paychex and our partners, ultimately enhancing the user experience and expanding our market reach. This is a critical leadership position responsible for P&L accountability and mid to long-term (3-5 years) growth strategy. The ideal candidate will bring a compelling vision and will have demonstrated success in identifying, assessing, and building a strong ecosystem of partners. This is a highly collaborative role where you will lead by influence and facilitate shared accountability for market success of our partnerships.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in in Business, Marketing, Technology, or a related field - Required
  • 15+ years' experience in strategic or channel partnerships or business development experience for a SaaS technology firm strongly preferred .

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Partnership Development: Identify and evaluate potential partners where embedding our software will provide significant strategic advantages and align with our business objectives. Develop and execute a comprehensive partnership strategy to ensure long-term growth and success. Design a standard set of partner value propositions, monetization options, and the overall go to market approach to create a scalable yet flexible partnership model. Source and cultivate new partnerships, by leveraging internal and external networks such as Executive team, sales leaders, industry influencers, etc.
  • Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong, trusted relationships with key stakeholders of partner organizations. Act as the primary point of contact for high-level partner queries and negotiations. Host regular business reviews to ensure partnership goals and performance metrics are met.
  • Integration Oversight: Ensure timely and successful integration, onboarding, and activation of the embedded partnerships, working closely with customer experience, sales, engineering, product, and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Market Analysis & Competitive Intelligence: Conduct regular market analyses to understand industry trends, new technologies, and competitive landscapes affecting embedded partnerships. Provide insights and recommendations to senior management on potential opportunities and threats.
  • Performance Monitoring & Reporting: Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the health and success of embedded partnerships, ensuring shared accountability and success of the partnerships. Provide regular reports and presentations to executive leadership on partnership performance and strategic initiatives.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Work closely with sales, marketing, and customer success teams to align partnership goals with company-wide objectives. Facilitate cross-functional communication to ensure clarity and alignment on partnership activities. Lead team members through alignment of objectives, coaching, providing challenging assignments, and ongoing feedback on progress.
  • Negotiation & Contract Management: Lead negotiations on partnership agreements, ensuring favorable terms and compliance with company policies. Manage ongoing contract renewal processes and amendments as needed.
