About The Position

The Senior Director of Business Development and 3PL Services is responsible for driving growth and developing strategies by selling integrated retail merchandise sales opportunities and logistics solutions to vendors. This individual establishes strategic partnerships with retailers, brands, and other companies to provide clients with avenues for selling products to Gabe's and processing services for those goods. Key responsibilities include building and managing relationships with clients and partners, conducting market research, negotiating contracts, and collaborating with internal teams. The collaboration with internal teams aims to ensure that the individual in the role targets partners that support purchasing opportunities for the Gabe's brand while maximizing customer satisfaction with 3PL services.

Requirements

  • Business Development - Proven history in executing strategies to acquire new clients, focusing on those who need both merchandising support and 3PL services. Self-motivated to drive revenue and meet or exceed profitability goals within a designated region.
  • Team concepts - Track record working with internal teams, such as merchants, operations, marketing, and finance, to design and deliver tailored plans.
  • Leadership and management - Demonstrated capability to lead teams that achieve high performance.
  • Communication - Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills to effectively influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Negotiation - Strong negotiation and financial skills to secure profitable deals.
  • Analytical - Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable strategies.
  • Strategic thinking - Ability to understand the market and competitive landscape to guide strategic direction.
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 8 to 10 years of prior 3PL or Business Development experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategies to acquire new clients, specifically targeting those who have merchandise to sell to Gabe's and require third-party logistics (3PL) services.
  • Serve as a company expert on Gabe's merchandising strategies and 3PL services during discussions with external clients and executives.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including merchants, supply chain operations, marketing and finance, to create and deliver customized opportunities and ensure strategic alignment.
  • Monitor market trends, company and industry developments, and competitor activities to guide strategic decisions.
  • Utilize market data and intelligence to formulate purchasing plans, make informed decisions, and align strategies with business objectives.
  • Nurture relationships with existing clients and partners and build new ones.
  • Negotiate and close agreements, contracts, and proposals.
  • Create marketing campaigns and develop compelling proposals and presentations to attract new business seeking to sell merchandise and require 3PL services.
  • Track key metrics and report to senior management on business development activities and outcomes.
  • Reports to Senior Vice President, Supply Chain.
